MUI Royale 1.3 releasedAirsoft Softwair is proud to present the immediate availability of MUI Royale 1.3. This update contains bug fixes and supports more MUI 4.0 features. Please note that MUI 4.0 is now also available for AmigaOS 3, so there is no reason to keep on using the old MUI 3.8 from 1997. Starting with MUI Royale 1.3, the *.hwc and *.hwp files have been merged so that MUI Royale is just a single binary now. Furthermore, users of Hollywood 6.0 will be happy to see that the installer makes all MUI Royale examples available in the Hollywood GUI now automatically.

MUI Royale requires at least Hollywood 5.2 and is provided free of charge for all users of Hollywood. It is available for AmigaOS 3 (m68k), AmigaOS 4 (PPC), MorphOS (PPC), and AROS (i386). The package comes with over 20 example scripts, many of which are direct ports from the MUI 3.8 SDK by Stefan Stuntz, but there are also original developments like demonstrations of how to create a video player using the combined power of Hollywood and MUI. On top of that MUI Royale comes with extensive documentation in over 300 PDF pages which are also available in the HTML, AmigaGuide, and CHM formats thanks to the Hollywood documentation system.

GL Galore 1.0 released

This is the game changer you've been waiting for! Airsoft Softwair is proud to present the next big thing: GL Galore, the ultimate OpenGL® scripting solution for Hollywood! GL Galore is a plugin for Hollywood that allows you to access the OpenGL 1.1 command set directly from Hollywood. This makes it possible to write scripts that utilize the host system's 3D hardware to create high-performance, butter-smooth 2D and 3D animation that is computed completely in hardware by the GPU of your graphics board. This leads to a huge performance boost over the classic Hollywood graphics API which is mostly implemented in software. Especially systems with slower CPUs will benefit greatly from hardware-accelerated drawing offered by OpenGL.

I have just prepared and uploaded SDL 2 archive to Aminet available to all MorphOS users and developers.

There is no SDL 2 ports available yet and SDL 2 port is minimal with only one sublibrary (sdl2_image.library) available. More libraries are available in the future and sdl2_mixer.library is already under works.

It also lacks 3D support at the moment and few subset APIs.

As soon as the archive is accepted by Aminet maintainers it is available for download.

MorphOS 3.8 or newer is required.

Following last year's highly successful event, Recursion returns (as it should...) and will take place at King Edward Vi School, Stratford-upon-Avon on Saturday 4 July 11.00-16.00.

Join us to celebrate 30 years of Amiga Heritage - meet up with a user group, have a play on the latest hardware and have a chat with MorphOS users and Amigans of all shapes, sizes and flavours!

The fair is completely free to all visitors and exhibitors and we are always keen to cram in another table of goodness: pm me or email rmbATkesDOTnet if you'd like to be added to the list of exhibitors. We are especially keen to show off the latest version of MorphOS on a range of hardware. Please do get in touch!

In addition to the Amiga madness, the RiscOS Midlands User Group will be holding their annual summer show as part of Recursion and the Retro Computer Museum will be bringing more retro and vintage systems than you could possibly play on in just 5 hours!

There will be plenty of new stuff to have a go on too: hundreds of Raspberry Pis to play with; virtual reality experiences thanks to Oculus Rift; unmanned drone flight training; electronics and programming workshops and loads, loads more.

Recursion is the ideal fair for geeks of all ages and vintages. See the Recursion 2015 website for more details:

Airsoft Softwair is proud to present the immediate availability of the Hollywood 6.0 SDK. This is the first full release of the Hollywood SDK. Whereas previous versions only contained the necessary header files, the full release also contains an extensive documentation covering almost 350 PDF pages. On top of that, the SDK contains well-commented source codes of example plugins and makefiles for all supported platforms. With this release Airsoft Softwair completely exposes all interfaces for the very first time to enable interested parties to create their own plugins and make Hollywood even more powerful! A new SDK section devoted to plugin development has also been added to the official Hollywood forums. Adding the 850 pages of the Hollywood 6.0 manual there are now almost 1200 pages of documentation which make Hollywood one of the biggest Amiga applications ever. Thanks to the Hollywood documentation system all reference manuals are available as AmigaGuide, HTML, CHM and PDF and can also be viewed online. The SDK is now available for free download from the official Hollywood portal.

This release was brought to you by Airsoft Softwair - the hardest working men in code business.

Three years after the release of Hollywood 5 Airsoft Softwair is proud to announce the immediate availability of Hollywood 6: Epiphany. Hollywood 6 is a massive update with a myriad of new functions. The most important new feature is the complete abstraction of the core components display, audio and DOS. These can now be completely replaced by plugins which opens up totally new possibilities. For example, it is possible to replace Hollywood's inbuilt display driver with a custom implementation now. A plugin, which uses this new interface to make OpenGL available to Hollywood, will be released shortly.

  • I add In this version a realtime spellchecking Realtime Spellchecking
A normal single word checking was added, too.
  • The text wrap around objects (pictures, shapes...) now Text wraping
The picture shows three kinds of text wraping: left, around and top/bottom wraping.
  • Any wraping is now with usage of its brain ;)
Because the text was splitting while wraping at a space character, if possible. Only with long words it did't work. So they was split at any character.
  • With the mouse movable separator bars of the header/footer.
After a bugfixing its possible to resize the header/footer with the mouse. Click on the bar at bottom/top of the header/footer and you can resize now the header/footer.
