SoundFX is the ultimate sound effects processor plugin for Hollywood as it supports almost 60 different effects and transformations that can easily be applied to Hollywood samples. On top of that, the plugin can also analyze audio data and generate new sounds by synthesizing tones from given text parameters. Finally, the plugin can also be used to join, mix or merge multiple samples into new ones or change the audio format of samples.

Airsoft Softwair, the hardest working men in code business, are proud to announce the immediate availability of version 1.1 of the XAD plugin for Hollywood. This plugin allows Hollywood scripts to open archives using the XAD system. The XAD system is a toolkit designed for handling various file and disk archiver formats which supports many common archiver formats like ZIP, LhA, LZX, CAB, bzip2, TAR, and RAR so that it is a powerful tool for people that have to deal with compressed data a lot. On AmigaOS and compatibles Hollywood's XAD plugin uses xadmaster.library directly whereas on non-Amiga platforms xadmaster is embedded into the plugin.

Version 1.1 is a minor update with some [b9enhancements and important bug fixes[/b]. It is now available for free download from the official Hollywood portal. The MorphOS development team is proud to announce the May 2026 release of the MorphOS Software Development Kit!

This SDK release delivers a major modernization update for the MorphOS development environment, featuring GCC 15.2.0, Python 3.14.4 with pip and virtual environment support, updated HTML documentation, and extensive updates across the toolchain and bundled utilities. Numerous core development components have been refreshed, including binutils 2.45.1, git 2.54.0, OpenSSL 4.0.0, OpenSSH 10.2p1, ffmpeg 4.4.7, perl 5.42.2, cmake 3.18.6, autoconf 2.73, automake 1.18, and many others.

One of the most important changes in this release is the migration of both ixemul and libnix to 64-bit time_t, off_t and fpos_t types, enabling proper support for dates past 2038 and large files throughout the SDK and newly compiled applications. Due to these ABI changes, developers are strongly encouraged to fully rebuild all existing libraries and object files. This release also includes many stability and compatibility improvements, including significant pdksh rework.

The new versions contain a few fixes and enhancements and also support macOS arm64 and Linux arm64 now. You can download them from the official Hollywood portal.

This is a major update which now adds support for encoding OggVorbis streams as well. Previously, only playback was supported but with Hollywood 11's new sound export interface the plugin can now also save OggVorbis streams. Constant and variable bitrates as well as several quality settings are supported. It's also possible to directly record audio data as OggVorbis now.

HTTP Streamer 2.0 is a major update which now supports a true streaming mode for audio and video files and it can also use the hURL plugin to stream files from HTTPS sources or any other protocol supported by hURL.

This plugin can be used to create and view PDF documents from Hollywood scripts and contains the most advanced PDF rendering engine available on Amiga systems. The plugin was formerly known as Polybios and was renamed for version 2.0 because the old name caused some confusion. Version 2.0 is a major update which, in the spirit of Hollywood 11 which has lots of optimizations for smaller executables, now contains two separate flavours of the plugin: A full version that includes the full PDF renderer and a light version which is much smaller because it only contains the engine to create PDFs. Furthermore, it's also possible to directly load PDF pages into Hollywood vector brushes now. Finally, the PDF plugin supports the macOS arm64 and Linux arm64 platforms now.

Hollywood is a programming language that can be used to create a wide variety of programs, ranging from games and GUI-based applications for desktop systems to mobile apps for Android and iOS. Hollywood's special feature is its support for retro platforms (e.g. AmigaOS, MorphOS, AROS) and modern operating systems (e.g. Windows, macOS, Linux) alike. It comes with a library of over 1000 commands and its functionality can be extended further through over 30 plugins which are available for free download.

Hollywood 11: Coderise is a massive update with lots of new features, optimizations and bug fixes. The most important new feature is that Hollywood 11 finally introduces a modular build system which will only link the libraries actually required by a script to the compiled program. This can drastically reduce executable sizes and is especially important on Amiga systems where memory is often limited. Hollywood 11 finally makes it possible to compile programs that fit on a single 880kb disk and run on a vanilla A1200! The new modular build system is made possible by a brand-new subsystem called Miniwood which, in contrast to Hollywood, allows scripts to only link the libraries actually required by the script to the output executable. Using Miniwood doesn't only have advantages for Amiga users but also for users of other platforms: For example, if scripts don't decide to load the display library, the program will also work on systems without X11, e.g. on pure terminal servers which was previously impossible.
