Airsoft Softwair, the unstoppable coding machine, is back on your screen with a brand new plugin for Hollywood: zip.hwp! This plugin allows Hollywood scripts to conveniently read and write zip archives. It uses Hollywood 6.0's new file and directory adapter plugin interfaces which allow you to iterate through zip archives as if they were normal directories. Files within zip archives can also be accessed as if the zip archive was a normal directory. It just doesn't get any easier! With zip.hwp it is not necessary to unpack a file stored in a zip archive to a temporary file before it can be opened. Hollywood 6.0's file adapter plugin interface allows direct streaming from the zip archive into the respective file handler without any temporary file overhead. This makes it even possible to stream music or video directly from a zip file!

15 years ago today, on Nov 5th 2002, Airsoft Softwair, the hardest working men in code business, released version 1.0 of Hollywood. Back then it was advertised as a "multimedia authoring system" comprising over 150 functions and it was only available for 68k Amigas. It immediately attracted the attention of lots of creative people from all around the world and thanks to the fantastic support of its community Hollywood has grown into a real swiss army knife for all different kinds of purposes. Who would have guessed 15 years ago that Hollywood would evolve into such a beast of a software that runs on over a dozen of different platforms and has lots of plugins that enhance its capabilities even further?

To celebrate Hollywood's 15th anniversary, Airsoft Softwair proudly presents a brand-new version of Malibu, the plugin that enables Hollywood to run Scala scripts. First released in June 2003, Malibu was the first Hollywood plugin and the one that started it all. As a special gift to the Hollywood community for its fantastic support over the last 15 years Airsoft Softwair has decided to make Malibu freely available for everybody. Previous versions were sold commercially but now Malibu is a Hollywood plugin that is provided completely free of charge like all other Hollywood plugins.

The new Crash Course to Hollywood Programming tutorial gives you some understanding of Hollywood programming, and it should be easier to learn more about the language by yourself then. Hollywood is an easy, safe, and very well documented language, and thus also suitable for beginners.

The tutorial is available at the MorphOS Library and it covers topics from the basics to MUI programming through examples.

A new version of the comic book reader is released.

New features in version 1.1:
- Added UnRAR/XAD selection to the settings menu. Using UnRAR increases compatibility and speed with .cbr files.
- "Show in OS..." option works under MorphOS and OS4 too, in the history GUI
- "Open file" now loads comic archives, and picture files also
- Some tweaks, and improvements to the GUI
- Auto resize didn't work as intended for small images

Webp.mcc 1.0

Webp.mcc is a MUI class to display webp pictures and animations.
Includet are two demo progs and a source of one of the progs, too.

The MUI class have the libwebp 0.6.0 includet and can only decode/demux webp at this time.

This is code business and the hardest working men in it are back on your screen with a brand-new release: MUI Royale 1.7. This version adds a few new features and contains some bug fixes.

MUI Royale requires at least Hollywood 5.2 and is provided free of charge for all users of Hollywood. It is available for AmigaOS 3 (m68k), AmigaOS 4 (PPC), MorphOS (PPC), and AROS (x86). The package comes with over 20 example scripts, many of which are direct ports from the MUI 3.8 SDK by Stefan Stuntz, but there are also original developments like demonstrations of how to create a video player using the combined power of Hollywood and MUI. On top of that MUI Royale comes with extensive documentation in over 300 PDF pages which are also available in the HTML, AmigaGuide, and CHM formats thanks to the Hollywood documentation system.

Finnish Amiga Users Group holds its 10th Saku event in Oulu, Finland on Saturday, September 30th.

The event will feature many classic Amiga setups from A500 to A4000, FPGA computers like Minimig and MIST, and next generation systems from MorphOS machines to AmigaOne X5000.

Daniel Müßener provided fresh development versions of upcoming Tower 57 and Wings Remastered games for the event, news from the MorphOS front will be presented, the Viva Amiga: The Story of a Beautiful Machine documentary film will be shown on a big screen, and the latest Amiga Future magazines are available for reading. Sensible World Of Soccer tournament and other game competitions will be organized too.

This version adds support for PPC Macintosh systems (requires Mac OS 10.5, considered by many to be the best Mac OS) and contains various bugfixes and a few new features. Changes include:  improved CSS support (Take a view: My Testprog and OWB with the same e-book page), inline CSS support, inline SVG support, support of unlimited number of css files, dynamic rendering (now you "see" the page parsing, like in OWB), and full asyncronous page processing (ou can change any settings while rendering.,).

Summer's over and Airsoft Softwair, the hardest working men in code business, are back on your screen with a brand-new plugin for Hollywood: RebelSDL. RebelSDL is a plugin for Hollywood that allows you to use SDL (Simple DirectMedia Layer) from Hollywood. This makes it possible to write scripts that utilize the host system's graphics hardware to create high-performance, butter-smooth 2D animation that is produced completely in hardware by the GPU of your graphics board. This leads to a huge performance boost over the classic Hollywood graphics API which is mostly implemented in software for maximum portability and compatibility. Especially systems with slower CPUs (like the Raspberry Pi) will benefit greatly from hardware-accelerated drawing, scaling, and transformation offered by SDL.

RNOComics is a comic book archive viewer that can open almost any archive file, or a directory with unarchived images, and display the images in it in a GUI designed to read comics.

• SVG: All shapes, textures, styles, colors, simple text and gradients was supported. It's possible to decode base64 encoded images. But no animation, scripts or "css styles in svg".
• Hyperlinks: This version can decode hyperlinks and set an inputhandler for them. (internal and external ones)
• Better page decoding: Now the result of decodings looks much better. Any image layout rules are included.

The first version of RNOAnim has been released. RNOAnim is a compact animation player that also has some conversion and editing functions. It supports IFF, GIF, and AVI (uncompressed/MJPEG) anims internally, but also allows a wide range of other formats via plugins and datatypes.

Robert "Phibrizzo" Krajcarz and Filip "widelec" Maryjanski with help from False.Genesis have prepared a new version of Aquaria for MorphOS. The most significant changes are: very fast loader, improved addon manager, volume setting fix. The original game and updates are required.

In the year of Hollywood's 15th anniversary, Airsoft Softwair, the hardest working men in code business, are back on your screen with Hollywood 7: Eternity. Hollywood 7.0 is a massive update with many new features and bug fixes. The most important new feature is full support for Unicode and native support for 64-bit CPUs on Windows, Mac OS, and Linux. This is especially useful on Linux because using 32-bit binaries on a 64-bit Linux is quite a hassle. On top of that, there are lots of other new features.

If you are using an AutoScroll screen (where the real width of the screen is greater than the visible width) and it annoyed you that not all sbar modules, especially the clock;) are visible if you are "working" on the left side of the screen, then you should my new screenbar module!

If the "left" side of such a screen is visible, then some of the screenbar modules aren't visible in the titlebar because they are adjusted to the right and therefore (partially) in the invisible area.

AutoVisible.sbar adds an extra empty space (depending on the position of the screen) to the titlebar, to have all your sbar modules in the visible area. Well, only if you are not having that many modules, that they don't fit into the visible area;)
