Games : : Greedium: A very addictive brain training game!

Greedium_Main.gif (made with RNOAnim!)

Download: Greedium

This is a game running in a mui window, where you have to collect as many numbers as possible, without walking over your own path and you have to stay within the playfield.
Sounds easy? Just try it!

One more thing to know is, the number next to you defines how many steps you go in that direction!
You can walk to the left, right, up and down using the cursor keys.

From time to time some "specials" will appear, if you collect them some good or bad things can happen;)

There is support for online highscores to compete against your friends!

You can customize all game sounds, which are in detail:
- InGame-Music (with wildcard support, to play multiple songs!)
- Menu-Music (with wildcard support, to play multiple songs!)
- GameStart
- GameOver
- sound for walking
- when a "Special" appears
- when you reach a new Highscore
- Immortal, while you are in God-Mode!

I preset them with sounds all MorphOS users already have.
The "Greedium.mp3" audio is composed by myself, you should use it as GameMusic!

Furthermore you can change the background color, the color for the numbers, the color for the path and the font used for the playfied!

In the future I will localize it, add some more "specials", a level-mode where you have to fulfill some quests, like collect as much numbers in a predefined time or collect an amount of specials, find an exit etc or maybe multiplayer... it depends on how you like it!

Just open the high scores window and switch to online mode at the top then press the Download button!

Press "Upload" in the "local" mode to upload your local high scores.

    Hi Thomas!
Surprising idea of game. Surprisingly addicted game :-)
Is the HiScore upload temporarily disabled? Woun't work here.

I miss draggable screens... and do you? I know I'm in a minority unfortunately.

    Did you get any errors?

Only the high scores for the 5 default playfield sizes will be uploaded!
The local high scores can contain hiscores for any playfield size you played.

For the next version I raised the number of online high scores per playfield size from five to ten.
There will also be a new "Special"!

And a fix for the dates in the high scores, currently I save/upload them as system localized string, f.e. 13-Apr-17.
But this isn't good, because the month is called different in different countries;)

v1.1 released, use internal UpdateCheck, Grunch or my website to update!

    NEW IN v1.1:
Fix: the month of the date of a highscore is now represented by its number instead of its name when uploading it, to prevent problems between different languages. Local highscores will be converted on first save

New: added a new "Special": § to switch to a random color theme

Chg: now there can be upto 10 entries for the online highscores per playfield size, 5 for local hiscores (same as before)

Chg: default theme is now Blue/Red

    Have updated!
I really like it, Thomas. I think one of the most top features of Greedium are online scores that motivate ppl to play. There are really too little amiga games make use of internet connection.
Would be nice to Specials' messages not disappear instantly right after popping up. Sometimes I don't know what they actually did. Maybe a special text field within a window instead of bubbles?

I miss draggable screens... and do you? I know I'm in a minority unfortunately.

    Hi r-tea!

Thanks, yes online high scores are great!

I think about showing the online highscore as well next to the local hiscore.
Maybe adding a notification if someone beats you hiscore...

I like your suggestion and added a "Last Sp." text field to show the last Special you got!
    Greedium_LastSp.png

I also added 3 new methods to show the logo;)
The new v1.2 will be available in some minutes!

I like it. Less clicks. And that would make hiscores clearer to read.

Thanks! That's nice. :-) I'm playing it much right now.
How about a cycle gadget with 5 predefined playfield sizes? I know there a problem with font size vs. screen size appears.

I miss draggable screens... and do you? I know I'm in a minority unfortunately.

    @jPV:
Thanks for the updated RNOAnim and adding my suggestions!

    @r-tea:
There is a menu for choosing one of the default Playfield sizes!
If you resize the window by hand, you can "fix" the size by left clicking on the "Size" textfield!
    Or from the Playfield menu.

Yesterday I added a context menu (right mouse click) to the "Size" textfield with the same entries.

I also changed the newly added "Last special" field to a cycle gadget, so the user can check while playing which Special does what event.

And just now I added a websitefor the HiScores to check from any mobile or computer who beats your high score!

Its only very simple, I don't have any good knowledge/experience in website creating;)
