This is a quick update to eGame, to fix problems that some users were having. It also looks a lot nicer. eGame allows you to keep an easily searchable list of games for playing - rather than having to hunt through lots of folders using Workbench/Wanderer/Ambient. Read more for changes.

Harry "Piru" Sintonen provided information regarding the status of the MorphOS port for Apple's PowerMac G5:

Everything is progressing nicely. Bigfoot also did some preliminary benchmarking using the same LAME (13 seconds) and MPlayer (49 seconds) benchmarks as used here. (This is with the 2.0 GHz G5.)

Reggae media processing framework has been updated to version 3.1.5. A new scheme of versioning is synchronized with MorphOS versions, it means 3.1.x Reggae is an update for MorphOS 3.1. Grunch users have already received this update incrementally, now it is also available in the download section of the site, as a standalone archive with Installer script. The update mostly contains new and updated classes resulting from the completed bounty for media writing. As usual there are also numerous bugfixes. MomosIRC is an IRC client for MorphOS. It is a new application, written from scratch, having MUI user interface. Due to incoming another break in the joyful creativity, the author decided to share the beta with users as is (with debug output turned on...). Not all features are implemented yet, but program is stable, and quite usable.

To celebrate adding Sudominator and U1Synth to the package manager Grunch, both programs have been updated. Sudominator had some problem with new MUI 4 transparency effect for disabled gadgets. This effect has been unnecessarily applied to the sudoku field when live solver was running, so the whole thing was unreadable. U1Synth has got an octave switch, a first small step towards changing it from a toy to a simple, yet usable synthesizer.

A new version of audio converter Zormanita brings automatic file extension handling. There is an option for removing extension from the source file name and for adding default extension (based on selected output format). These features with previously available ones, like copying source name to destination and dropping files from Ambient into Zormanita window, make it easier to convert multiple files. A Reggae classes update comes with Zormanita, it adds 24 and 32-bit modes to AIFF, WAVE and Raw encoders. Zormanita may be downloaded from our download section.

Zormanita is an audio format converter. It has been written as a result of MorphOS media saving API bounty. Currently it can load AIFF, WAVE (several flavours), 8SVX, 16SV, and MPEG Audio files, they can be saved as AIFF, WAVE or raw data. Because Zormanita uses new Reggae features, it will support any audio codecs added to Reggae in the future. All the program (including codec selection and its parameters) is controlled with GUI. Source code is included to the archive, which can be downloaded from the download zone.
