After succesfull introduction of DigiBooster 3, APC&TCP releases an open source DigiBooster 3 replayer routine organized as a static library. The code is being released on permissive, two-clause BSD license. The player is written in clean C with minimal dependencies. As such it has been succesfully compiled and tested on numerous platforms: AmigaOS 4 and Morphos, Linux (on x86, x86_64 and aarch64), Windows (XP, Win7, 32 and 64 bit) and MacOS X (x86_64). It also supports the most popular compilers: GCC, Clang and Visual C++. The package contains source code of two example tools: 'dbminfo' displays information about a module, 'dbm2wav' renders a module into 44.1 kHz 16-bit stereo WAVE file. Of course library API documentation is provided as well.

Based on this code we plan to release in the near future more ready to use components, like shared libraries for AmigaOS and MorphOS and a few plugins for popular audio players. Release of this code ends difficulties of playing DigiBooster 2/3 modules on non-Amiga(like) systems.

The library package is available for downloads on the official DigiBooster 3 webpage. Any questions related to the package may be asked on the official DigiBooster support forum.

MorphOS Nordic presents a new interview. This time it's Guido "Geit" Mersmann that's being interviewed. For additional information about his software projects and Geit@Home events, please visit his website: www.geit.de

Can you write a short presentation of yourself for people that don't know you?
Well, I am Guido Mersmann, aka Geit, 43 years old and I live in Hörstel, Germany. I started developing as a boy in 1983 (AFAIR).

Can you tell us a bit about your computer history?
I got my first computer for Christmas. It was a Busch2090, which probably no one will actually know. It is a 4 Bit Computer with a Texas Instruments processor. Quite limited with a system memory capable of keeping 256 CPU commands. Each command has 3 nibbles, so it had the astonishing capacity of 384 bytes of system memory. A few years later I got a C64, where my projects got a little bigger.

Fabien Coeurjoly has released version 1.22 of his Odyssey Web Browser. You can download it from:
http://fabportnawak.free.fr/owb/owb-morphos-1.22.lha

Changes:
  • Fixed the slowness issue with topsites, when adblock was enabled. In that case, the generated screenshot data: URI (which is basically the screenshot raw data encoded as base64) was matched against the rules in adblock, which was obviously very slow.
  • For security reasons, file:/// URL couldn't be accessed from topsites. Fixed as well.
