Software : : Reggae media framework updated to 3.1.5
Posted By: Krashan. on 2012/10/26 8:38:01
Reggae media processing framework has been updated to version 3.1.5. A new scheme of versioning is synchronized with MorphOS versions, it means 3.1.x Reggae is an update for MorphOS 3.1. Grunch users have already received this update incrementally, now it is also available in the download section of the site, as a standalone archive with Installer script. The update mostly contains new and updated classes resulting from the completed bounty for media writing. As usual there are also numerous bugfixes. All changes are listed in a changelog contained in the archive. Developer documentation and SDK include files have been updated too, and are installed automatically if SDK installation is detected.

That's cool! Thanks for your update. I hope the new number scheme does not indicate multiple more Reggae updates before MOS 3.2 is out.

What would be particularly bad about it?

Reggae is a MOS component after all so an incremental version bump makes sense.

Reggae, being a relatively high level component of MorphOS, may be usually updated independently of the system core. Then I think it is good for users to get some new features while waiting for the next MorphOS release :-).

I just hope that the new couting scheme does not mean a long wait for the next MOS release again.
