Origyn Web Browser v1.1Fabien "Fab" Coeurjoly has updated his MorphOS port of the Origyn Web Browser. This web browser is based on the powerful WebKit engine which is also used by Apple's Safari or Google's Chrome.

Version 1.1 is available in three editions, namely the full browser (owb-morphos-1.1.lha), a version without SVG support (owb-morphos-1.1-nosvg.lha) and "OWB Lite" which excludes support for SVG and for codepages other than UTF-8 and Latin-1. The two extra editions are primarily intented to be used on systems that feature only low amounts of memory (Efika).

System requirements:‏
MorphOS 2.x is strongly recommended but it can still work on a 1.4.x setup if a recent MUI snapshot (2007) is installed. The full browser requires about 5MB of disk space and at least 35MB of free system memory. (The No-SVG and Lite editions of OWB may require different amounts of disk space and system memory.)

We have worked on the extension of the Amiga Future database for the past months.
By now it contains about 3000 articles for online reading.

This week we added some workshops and an up-to-date article about astronomy photography by Mirko Strau‏.

http://www.amigafuture.de/kb.php‏mode=article&k=3168

To extend the database even further we look for English and German articles. There were lots of websites offering reviews and workshops. Many of them diappeared unfortunately together with their valuable content. We would like to offer this kind of information online again.

Have you made a homepage with such articles which isn't online anymore‏ Or did you write something yourself‏ Then please contact us at the editorial office.

Origyn Web BrowserFabien "Fab" Coeurjoly has successfully ported the Origyn Web Browser to MorphOS after about three weeks of work. This web browser is based on the powerful WebKit engine which is also used by Apple's Safari or Google's Chrome.

System requirements:‏
MorphOS 2.x is strongly recommended but it can still work on a 1.4.x setup if a recent MUI snapshot (2007) is installed. • Based on GaleKid 1.0 OWB Branch (December 2008)
  • Javascript, CSS, DOM, SVG, Unicode, SSL, ...
  • Antialiased fonts and kerning, font families and support for international charsets
  • MUI Interface
  • Cairo technology !!1

The development of the new DBPro3 is slowly but steadily taking shape.

Our first goal is and was to code the whole program completly new to get more structure in order to improve and be more efficient.

Furthermore, the handling is the same as in DBPro2.x. The current development status is the internal version Alpha 17th.

In the next 3-4 months, we will give you a very detailed status update and we hope to release a beta-demoversion. We want to emphasize again, that can not give you more further details. We do not want to pledge that we will not keep that promise.

There is a new build of Samba 3.2.0 for MorphOS. Its developer reports that it works well overall. A known limitation is that it is impossible to browse the shares from computers running Windows (OSX and Linux showed no problems). However, mounting shares directly works fine in any case.

As the developer has access to MorphOS 2.x running on an Efika only, he is looking for help from Pegasos owners who would like to test the software on their hardware. You can contact Michael (micken) by sending him a PM here on MorphZone.
