A nice unexpected surprise! thanks MorphOS team!

Can anyone comment if the 128MB graphics memory limitation has now been fixed? Just curious - it wasn't mentioned in the release notes.

    Fantastic news, thanks MorphOS team.

I can see some things that might fix the stability issues I've had.

Shame there is nothing new on USB/Poseidon' and I'm still looking for
a usable browser (sorry, Sputnik is not usable yet).

I was also disappointed not to see an update to Sputnik. Anyone know the status of Sputnik and if any updates are planned?

What about someone porting OWB from OS 4?

Not a single Bug of Poseidon and HDConfig has been removed at MOS2.2! All errors from 2.0 (yes from 2.0!) continue to exist! :(

The Sputnik developer, Marcin 'Marcik' Kwiatkowski, appears to be currently working on a port to Hyperion Entertainment's "OS4". We will hopefully see further updates in the not too distant future.

As for OWB, Stanislaw Szymczyk was assigned the "Port open source browser to AROS" bounty by Power2People. There is a chance that his work would make a port of OWB to MorphOS even easier. His current release target is March 1, 2009 which he will likely meet on-time if his previous bounty assignment is any indication.

    Nice one!
Unfortunately my Efika is dissassembled again, and my Pegasos suffered a strange behavior last days (monitor turns suddenly black after a few minutes, but system is not freezing (music continues to play), which I'd like to have fixed b4 I update to 2.2.
But great to see things moving forward. Hopefully in the not too distant future the Mac Mini release comes, too (my Mini's waiting for a proper OS).

Nice to see an update, but... There are still the same bugs in USB. It's really sad I have to run Linux all the time I want to copy files between peg and my mp3 player. It worked even with MorphOS 1.4, but not with 2.2...

Hmmm.. When I try to boot normally with the CD in, which did work before to boot from the CD it now tells me that my Boot.img is too old, which is fair enough I suppose.

But it then tells me I have to put boot/pci/cd to boot from the CD, which is wrong.

Also Spuntik is now so juddery as to be unsable 2.2 for some reason.

No, to install I booted correctly from CD using

    boot cd boot.img

Having to reboot again so I could read the "read.me" to find out the correct magic words to type in :(

formated my dh0: and then installed as correctly.

It seem on my setup that screens(window) drop the usb mouse when dragged now
    abit more than before. :-(

yes to confirm dragging anything is now like it was initially in 2.0
including scroll bar.We have got to fix the usb on efika. I fear the same on any future
    release to alt platform

Is there any kind of option to change the video mode it boots to? I've been trying to boot the CD to give it a look, but it's setting a mode my lcd monitor cannot handle.

    @Madgun68

In case autoconfig fails for you, you can always force a certain screenmode with the bootmenu. Just add 'bm' to the boot command (as in 'boot bootefika.img bm'). There you will be able to select a screenmode which should work with anything.

Huh. Sure it's not some PAL/NTSC only LCD-TV? :) Can you see the bootmenu? The modes in bootmenu are standard VESA modes and should be supported by all current displays.

I think you could also try deleting ddc.library from sys:morphos/libs as a last resort and try without that.

I recently re-installed MorphOS2.1 to a new hard drive on my peg1 (to replace an old one that died). At least the peg1 works fine ;-)

Do I need to re-install 2.2 from a formatted hard drive or will it install the new files over the 2.1 install?

The installer provides an upgrade option now, remember to copy the boot image if you keep it on a separate ffs partition.

It seems marcik spent the last few months working on the OS4 version and actually got it working in many important areas. But now the OS4 people actually canceled the bounty :-o! This means that the OS4 related work spent was rendered worthless :-x!

Well maybe this will mean that his attention won't be diverted on losers anymore but fully focused on the MorphOS development instead.
