Carsten Siegner has released a beta version of "Bluepaint",‏ a basic vector graphic program for MorphOS. It can load and save ".odg"-files as well as save in SVG, Postscript and PDF. In order to run the software, users need MorphOS 2.x, RxMUI, LhA, ZIP, Unzip and gzip.

sananaman has published a report about his experiences while installing MorphOS on a Mac mini. His review includes an extensive amount of screenshots. The original comments are in Dutch but a reasonably good machine translation is available below as well.

Origyn Web Browser v1.5Fabien Coeurjoly has just released version 1.5 of his OWB port for MorphOS.

Notable changes include the following:
  • Added Locale support
  • Some GUI elements are now draggable/droppable
  • Optional Favicon support. They are displayed in tabs, history panel, bookmark, bookmark panel and quicklinks.
  • Added save/restore session menu entries in project menu.
  • Made restore session requester at startup optional.
  • Added password manager for auth and forms (for forms, enable "save form credentials" in options).
  • Added history sidepanel.
  • Made bookmark sidepanel update faster.
  • Added "History" pulldown menu with recently visited entries and recently closed tabs submenu.
  • OWB SVN r1092.
  • Curl 7.19.6.

First reports from the Amiga Meeting Nord 2009The Amiga Club Hamburg has set up a web camera and provides a live feed from the Amiga Meeting Nord 2009 in Bad Bramstedt. The event will be open to visitors until Sunday.

Stefan Kleinheinrich (Kronos) has posted two photos made at the event on late Friday evening. They show an eMac running a development version of MorphOS and a Mac mini that features a subtle, but interesting case modification.

Following the release of MorphOS 2.4 for the Mac Mini, I have prepared a small PDF explaining how to install MorphOS along with Mac OS X on the Mac Mini on the same hard drive.

MorphOS 2.4 - First Release with Mac mini SupportThe MorphOS development team is proud to announce the public release of MorphOS 2.4, the first ever public version to install on Mac mini G4 machines. In addition to the extended hardware support, existing users will benefit from various bug fixes and a few new features. For an overview of the included changes, please read our release notes.

We strongly urge owners of Mac mini G4 computers to carefully read our installation and troubleshoot guides before they attempt to install MorphOS for the first time. Existing users can upgrade via the familiar procedure but are encouraged to read the guides as well. MorphOS 2.4 is available for download in our files section.

In related news, MorphOS 2.4 will be demonstrated at the upcoming Amiga Meeting in Bad Bramstedt. Interested users will be able to pay and register MorphOS at the event.
