The magazine Obligement published today a benchmark comparison of AmigaOS 4.1 and MorphOS 2.3 running on a Pegasos II. The overall comparisons is based on 20 benchmark categories, which include boot time, processor, 3D, USB, IDE hard disk, WarpOS emulation, 68k emulation, etc. No subjective comparison was made, all benchmarks are based strictly on numbers.

Public Release of MorphOS 2.3The MorphOS development team is proud to announce the public release of MorphOS 2.3, a free update for users of MorphOS 2.2, 2.1 and 2.0. In addition to numerous bug fixes, MorphOS 2.3 includes additional optimizations and new features such as configuration options for the MorphOS display engine, useful utilities for the screen bar and read-only support for HFS+ formatted volumes. For an overview of the included changes, please read our release notes.

Another barrier is falling in extending the capabilities of Amiga-like systems. Fab Coeurjoly added Flash video support to his already great port of OWB browser for MorphOS. A screenshot:

He used "swfdec" to implement the feature but mentioned that it is very slow currently.
