As you all probably know, Apdf (a PDF documents reader, and a part of MorphOS) is under GPL license.

Due to this its sources should be publicly available. Why they weren't until this time? Grxmrx decided to ask MorphOS Team about it, and within two days the sources have been publicly released and additionaly a new 3.4 update is available.

You can download the source and update from the MorphOS users ftp.

The MorphOS development team would like to inform all PEGASOS owners that new versions of "parallel.device" and " rtl_8139pci.device" are available for download. The files can be obtained by registered users from either the FTP server or the usual download website.

PEGASOS owners who do not make use of the parallel or a RTL8139-based network card when running MorphOS, may skip these updates as they will not provide any benefits. Everyone else is advised to install the new files to further enhance their MorphOS activities.

VICE (C64, C128, VIC20, PET, PLUS4 and CBM-II emulator) has finally been ported to OS3.x, MorphOS and AROS. Unfortunately the initial MorphOS version was close to unusable due to numerous bugs. I fixed most of these bugs and got VICE to work somewhat.

To reflect the recent changes in the SDK all binaries have been recompiled and repackaged. This also allowed for C++ support to be included. MorphOS SDK was updated with the latest libnix update as well. Binaries for i686-cygwin and i686-linux provided on ( http://www.zerohero.se/cross/mos.html  ). Thank you to Sigbjørn Skjæret and Gunther Nikl for their work on this.

There were also some small changes in the AmigaOS 3.9 NDK, new proto/ and inline/ includes were generated and are now included in the archive. Get them at ( http://www.zerohero.se/cross/os3.html  ).

Regards,
Joachim Birging

There is nothing to worry, 0.4.5 was not crawling with bugs, well at least not with very obvious ones, but we didn't feel like you should wait another long time to get the latest changes. For 0.4.6 we have backported changes from the main tree. In normal terms this means no new features, only a more stable gameplay. It is encouraged to upgrade from 0.4.5, as some issues might also affect you.

More encodings for font names have been added (fixes problem with Marlett font). Also some bugs have been fixed as usual. What is also interesting, TTEngine is one of the first MorphOS software available as MorphUp packet.

David Fisher of the I-Browse team is quoted in Total Amiga magazine: "There wil be... a 68k version which will run under MorphOS, classics under OS3.x, and Amithlon. Whether we do a native MorphOS version has not yet been decided - once the OS4 version is complete we will evaluate the situation."

David Burstrom was interviewed together with David Fisher. It was Fisher who answered that one.

DigiFilter is a simple application for digital FIR filter design. Filter frequency response is not limited to typical lowpass, highpass, bandpass and bandstop. It can be graphically designed to any shape instead. The program uses windowing technique with rectangle, triangle, Blackman and Kaiser windows. Maximum number of taps is 2048. Both designed frequency response and set of calculated tap multipliers may be saved to a file. DigiFilter is available in the download section and on Aminet. The program is freeware.

GerontoPlayer.library is a shared library making use of several open source libraries dedicated to playing sound files mainly from old game systems, through a simple to use unified API. This is basically just an extremely simple wrapper.

A plugin for AmiNetRadio makes use of it. This library is distributed under the LGPL licence.
