Again from the MorphOS News source, MorphOS-News.de, it was reported that OpenBSD now supports the Pegasos-I and the Pegasos-II.

The current port maintainer is Dale Rahn.

MorphZone presents the first annual "Best Original Freeware" awards!

During an almost (:lol:) secret meeting on #MorphZone, the idea came up and the criteria determined to give an award to the best freeware of the year. It's the original freeware authors who are really making our fledgling OS and community shine, and we want to give the MorphZone members the chance to select their favorite!

Login, find the poll on the right side of the main page, and then VOTE! Only YOU can decide who's original freeware is the best of 2003!

MorphOS Information at Motorola's Website

Motorola has now added also information about MorphOS to their website.

In the meantime the MorphOS Developer Connection (MDC) has now over 500 registered members.

Genesi's Open Desktop Workstation on IBM's Global Solutions Directory.

IBM has put online information about Genesi's Open Desktop Workstation which is based upon the Pegasos mainboard.

The combined reference designs and open standards give the Open Desktop Workstation the flexibility to unleash PowerPC onto the desktops of the workplace and the server racks of the small business.

DVD Copy Control Association dismiss the case against Andrew Bunner. Bunner was sued by DVD-CCA for distributing the source code to DeCSS on his website."

"Written by Norwegian teenager Jon Johansen, the code was initially aimed at letting Linux-based computers play DVDs. However, the code became widely distributed as a means for breaking through, or decrypting, the Content Scrambling System, an anticopying technology the DVD CCA created that most DVDs use.

Norwegian courts ruled last month for a second time that Johansen did not break that country's laws in releasing the DeCSS code online."

IBM is gearing up to push Linux and PowerPC, according to an arcicle found on InternetNews.com.

"Anybody who doesn't think the PowerPC is a platform is an architecture that IBM is not fully committed to bring to the industry better think again," (James) Governor said. "IBM may support Itanium, but it is not going to cede the market to Intel."

Genesi SARL is now listed in the Motorola Alliance Directory.

Under the agreement reached late last week Motorola has begun an investigation into the use of the Pegasos primarily focused on the server and consumer electronics market. Motorola has begun to develop a joint marketing plan to promote and sell the Pegasos with Genesi.

The Greek Pegasos User Group has just recieved a major update!

You can now find information about both Pegasos systems, the OSes that run on them and other related stuff, in Greek.

There is now a nice registration script, for people wanting to join us!.

LAME is a highquality and ultrafast MP3 encoder released under the LGPL.

The new 3.95.1 recompile for MorphOS uses libnix, so no need for ixemul.library, but you have now take care for enough stack (also see readme).

Tales of Tamar has been updated with many bugfixes, changes, and updates, including the "black screen" bug under MorphOS.

Changes have been made to init-screen, mapscreens, building screens, the mail system, and more.

The archives are updated and some old but harmless issues are now finally fixed. Both tools where originaly developed by Thomas 'THOR' Richter and now continued by Christian 'tokai' Rosentreter.

Block 2.05 (atm.: 68k, MorphOS, win32) is a tool for splitting and joining files. A LinuxPPC version will be added to the archive in the next days.

CMP 40.6 (atm.: 68k, MorphOS) is a tool for comparing binary files and print the difference in a TYPE HEX style output.
