Great news! Who knows, if some day I will be able to recover inspiration, and start making music again... That was the main problem I had when I attempted to return to tracking. Well, that, and a user interface that, while I was able to enjoy when I was a kid, nowadays it just puts me back a lot. And it's not DigiBooster's fault, it's mine: User interfaces for complex musical instruments are, indeed, complex! So, being faced to such complexities, while I was attempting a comeback, just made me think, "well, you're too old for rock'n'roll now"!
Have you thought about building a simpler user interface, for us former musicians which have been too many years working in an office environment? Perhaps a way of having only the essential, and then the ability to add as much functionality as needed, while the user progresses. I mean, is it really needed to put ALL those functions on screen at once?

DigiBooster 3 UI is significantly simplified compared to 2.x version. For example almost half of the gadgets are wiped out of the main window, leaving more space for pattern editor. Also GUI is much more logical now, and more comfortable because of advanced MUI gadgets.

Great news! Are screenshots available, or the PowerDeveloper 6 video is the only way of seeing DigiBooster 3?
I see vast improvements in instrument loading, particularly that enhanced file requester looks as convenient as an Ambient lister... hey, what if you actually accepted drag'n'drop from an ambient lister?
Also, I don't know what you mean when you say that the sampling rate is red from the file. Is that something really new? Or is it that now you analyze the sound, and get the musical note it might be tuned at? That would be cool.
Would it make sense for DigiBooster 3 to load MP3 sounds? I don't know to what extent MP3 instruments are common (for loops surely it is), but perhaps it's a limitation of Reggae, which doesn't do MPEG, correct me if I'm wrong.

Dont want to sound negative, but this newsitem once again(!) gives zero to reader. At this point I would expect a full featurelist.

Can be done, not a rocket science...

what you mean when you say that the sampling rate is red from the file. Is that something really new?

Well, it is an obvious thing, but it is new compared to DigiBooster 2.x. Believe it or not, DB 2.x when loads AIFF or WAVE sample, ignores sample rate stored in the file header, and replaces it with 8363 Hz.

but perhaps it's a limitation of Reggae, which doesn't do MPEG

It is only true for publicly available version of Reggae ;-). But then - as DigiBooster 3 is also developed for AmigaOS 3 and AmigaOS 4, which do not have Reggae, I've written common code first. Then MorphOS version will get Reggae based loader and will read all audio formats supported by Reggae (yes, even AMOS sound banks).

It's a great solution, because you can't be more standard than that. But most of all, because you don't need to write your own file requester (unless you want it to do things that ambient can't do).

    Shock!

Lovely default frequency, dating back to Aegis Sonix on Workbench 1.1...

Great news! Of course, I supposed that you already had the most widely used codecs in your Reggae. You have to admit that making an annoiuncement saying "Reggae finally reads ZX Spectrum pictures" is... erm... embarrasing.

Note taken. I forgot about this, you already warned about it.
