PPCNUX looked inside the machine that not only comes with Linux but also MorphOS preinstalled on HD. If you cannot read German, the 14 pictures might still interest you. For dare-devils there remains an infamous babelfish translation.

From Freescale, the Open Desktop Workstation product page is now available.

Minneapolis, Minnesota -- Genesi announced it had successfully completed the Avalanche Desktop Reference pre-pilot project development and had transitioned to the deployment phase with Avalanche members Jostens and Select Comfort. Jostens and Select Comfort seek to validate a Debian GNU/Linux solution running on the PowerPC®-based Pegasos system for thin client/file server use in call centers and general corporate desktop use.

Realstar did a quick port of the HuC PCEngine/Turbografx C compiler to MorphOS. This is a great companion to TGEmu since it allows the creation of freeware roms that run on the emulator.

SMART NETWORKS DEVELOPER FORUM, FRANKFURT, GERMANY - SEPT. 30, 2004 - Genesi Open Desktop Workstations based on the Pegasos II were used during a hands-on Linux workshop the last day of Freescale's Smart Networks Developer Forum Europe (SNDF Europe). The PowerPC® architecture, with the AltiVec SIMD engine, is an excellent alternate architecture for Linux applications, and the Genesi Pegasos II system comes equipped with the MPC7447 PowerPC processor from Freescale and the Marvell Discovery II northbridge.
