ColdFire V5/V5e chips are available in the hundreds of thousands (as outlined 2 months ago), even though not directly from NXP. What's missing is publicly available documentation.

Actually, the G5 machines MorphOS officially runs on are multi-processor while each processor is single-core :-)

    > They lack the hypervisor included in other Power 4 based cpus

The CPUs of all G5 Mac models include a hypervisor, see past discussions :-)

There's indeed something severely fishy when paid DVDs haven't been sent out 2 years after the content has been completed and released digitally and 1½ years after the DVD started to be available on Amazon. The Kickstarter comments page shows you're not the only one by far. What a pity.

    68K MorphOS is my fantasy.

It'll run fast enough with the UAE-JIT on an i7 or Threadripper.

Personally, I find zero V5s on eBay, maybe you can suggest an alternate supplier, because NXP doeswant to discuss it.

I have no idea how 68K or even Coldfire made it into a MorphOS wishes/expectations 2019 thread but seriously, NO and NO.

I can't but the Firebee project's Mathias Wittau can ("We can buy hundrets of thousands of the 400MHz V5e versions immediatly/right now in Asia from resellers ($8,5 per unit)").

Interesting, the V%s must be reballed salvaged cpus from old laser printers. I'll haveto drop him a message.

On the G5's hypervisor, I thought that was disabled, but if it isn't that could prove useful.

Yes, as we discussed back then, on G5 Macs the PPC970's hypervisor is disabled by the machines' firmware. Yet, this doesn't render the hypervisor nonexistent. It's there in the CPU and can be used on other (non-Mac) PPC970-based machines (and could be used on the Mac if someone found a way to alter the relevant firmware bits).

I just want to get my MorphOS Mac mini running MorphOS again. It was running fine under 3.9 and when upgrading to 3.11 it stalled and then I got the 30 minute warning of not being registered (because of booting off DVD) though the hard drive had a valid key and the system has been toast since. No matter what I did with 3.10 or 3.11 I can not get it to finish installing in the 30 minute window and it dies.

I just have to spend the time in 2019 to get it going again. There are things I have tried and plan to do but I will deal with it again in another month or so. If I again have problems I will post my issues here on the forum for suggestions.

Then my real goals is to purchase a couple of games and try some Amiga emulation.

    Wild guess:

Still running the original 15 year old HD?

-> buy a new one, install from scratch and transfer your keyfile

Might also be the optical drive.

-> replacing that might be a bit harder, but you could try an ISO boot from USB

I don’t want to fill this thread with what I did so far or suspect is wrong. First guess is the DVD drive. I did get a replacement but it doesn’t look fun to replace at first glance. I want to load OSX back on. If that works then that rules out the DVD drive and possibly the Mac itself. I have a few machines that need my attention before I can get back to the mini. I guess in about a month or so I’ll be able to try it again.

you could also use RegisterISO to inject your key into the iso, so no more 30 mins limit from cd

Could you try contacting them on Facebook? I tried to email them in 2017 to get a permission to show Viva Amiga at Saku 2017 event, but they never replied. But when asked on Facebook, we got the reply (and permission) quite quikly. Maybe the email address is abandoned or has a spam problem or something.
