Hard to know IF they will be supported, but iMac ports have already been shown, and a late 2005 G5 port wouldn't be too hard.

I have a G5 Quad with an Apple Radeon X1900GT that runs great. While three cores would be wasted, it would still make a great MorphOS system.

My first move would be installing a Tremor or CMI8738 audio card, a supported network card (because I don't think we have support for the native NIC), and a Radeon HD 4770 video card (for hardware overlay support).

Since all I need is the network and sound card (I have lots of video cards), my total investment would be about $30.

Leaves plenty of room for a license key.

Both systems have been frequently requested. iMacs are cheap. I had to pay $200 for the Quad delivered (a great price as they are going up).

In fact, I had the Apple Radeon 1900 on hand, so I posted the installed Nvidia 7800 on eBay for $79.95.

Total cost outside of some upgrades will be about $120.

    That wouldn't surprise me.

I was just offered an iMac for $30.

I got my latest Quad G5 delivered to my door for $200 via Craigslist.

And a dealer on eBay just offered me a Quad that requires one CPU to be replaced for $100.

PPC970 systems are cheap right now.

And thanks to dying x64 systems I've got an i5, a Pentium M, and two Athlon 64 5000+ cpus sitting around here unused.

I'm sticking with Power right now until the Ryzen 3000 series is released. Then I might build a dirt cheap six core matx system.

Wil the Lorenz crackers shown in the picture also get support in 3.12? Yummie!

Edit: Oh, not only crackers, but also nuts! Even more yummie!

    You missed the snails snakes.

Those are so good I have to "hide" them from Geit.

    Photos?

zukow's been showing/demoing it at AmiParty (Chełm/Poland) several times already. I was looking for some photos, but all I found was MorphOS 3.12 on an A1200/BlizzardPPC. I guess only Andreas Wolf would find the right one.

Oh my! Post that! An updated MorphOS for Amiga Classic would be too cool.
Considering some of the experiments going on with the sonnet PPC cards, there might even be cpus powerful enough to make that practical.
I've seen a few that were clocked at 800 MHz.

    @Jim

MorphOS on P5-HW has been shown on several occasions, but I doubt the reasons why it isn't public have changed or will ever change.

The Sonnet+Mediator+WarpOS hack only works cos the real OS (AmigaOS3.x) is still running on the 68k side of things.

Without it you'd have no way to access KBD, floppy onboard-IDE/SCSI or Zorro cards.

As for the iMac (to get somewhat BTT) 1st I had it at Geits (and running MorphOS) was 6 years ago so thats for sure not the newsworthy part of that picture !!

The only reason I have ever seen posted was that we already have a lot of supported hardware.
But the late 2005 G5 would be a great model to have with its PCIe expansion slots.

My Quad is sitting right in front of me. It's got OSX on it right now, but I'm trying to figure out a good Linux distro for it.
I have an Apple X1900GT video card in it, but if I were to install an alternative OS I'd upgrade to a newer PC video card.

They'd make great MorphOS machines, and I'm trying to figure out how set up VMs on it.
Running more than one OS on this would be cool.

The last PowerUP version I read of was MorphOS 3.8, and 3.10 was alluded to. So it's no surprise even later versions exist.

1.0 GHz G4 is the fastest card successfully tested so far, I think.

If it will be a while for the first real X86-64 release, I most certainly wouldn't mind a G5 Quad/PCIe release. It would probably be a pretty quick new register for me.

That ought to be released, as should the iMac G5 port, and a port for the late 2005 G5.

I'd try to build a classic system with PCI.
What we'd really need is Sonnet PPC support.

I missed a chance to buy an 800 MHz board last year.

A CBM or Escom Amiga that could run OS3.1-3.9, OS4.1, and MorphOS would be rather cool.
