    >BTW, is the DiscoveryIII pin compatible with the Discovery II?

A pity it seems not to be the case.

    >would it be possible to change it in future batches so it's possible to increase bus clock?

As Genesi are planning to do several redesigns based on PegasosPPC and the Discovery III is said to be software compatible to the II, there is a (slight?) chance we may see the more current systemcontroller in a Pegasos derivative design. *hint, hint to bplan*

The G3 with Discovery III and 200MHz bus succeeded in beating a faster G4 with 133MHz bus in the IPMark test of EEMBC's new networking benchmark suite - see the corresponding PPCNUX article.
Btw, didn't Genesi also want to use the 750GX CPU? ;-)

The VX version (the one with vector unit) would be even better... :-)

    Very nice to see! :-)

People doesn't seem to realize how big this really is and the importance of it.

Another thing, I look at this as evidence of Genesi is beginning to leave "the dark ages", cused by the Pretory mess, behind. I am slowly raising my optimism again about the future of the platform! :-)

Hey, I doubt that current Pegasos-2 northbridge was fully pin compatible with Articia either :-)

Don't think there is any point in doing a new Peg based on one of these chips.

Mobos for special needs (STB,handheld whatever) based on the Peg could use them, but a new mATX would be to little for the effort.

Next Peg should be either based on G5 or fully utilize the upcoming dual-core chips from Freescale.

That "Developer" email should go out this week or early next week. Freescale wanted to make sure the first ones went to those that were attending SNDF and the rest after. There will be a third batch of machines now too.

    Thank you!
I' sure this will bring plenty of new software to the pegasos/morphos&linux platform and will make it even more interesting for new customers.

    Hello BBRV,

I would love to develop for MorphOS, but I cannot go to Europe right now to attend the PegasosPPC Day. :(

For a while, I have been reading about the Pegasos and MorphOS, and I have decided to concentrate most of my future development on this new platform.

This is exciting indeed! I cannot wait to get a new Pegasos with MorphOS. :)

Congrats on all the successes so far with the Pegasos platform, BBRV!

I'm sure a lot of people here are very interested in that information too, including myself of course. :-D

    a) that broken german keymap was in reality a swedish one that one "smarty" had selected.

    b) It was the demo machine in the main-conference room, which was running 1.5.

    c) I was too slow in thinking to copy it onto the 128mb USB-stick I had in my pocket :-x :-x ......... :-D

    d) my ODW came with an MOS1.4-install much nicer looking than what I managed in the last 1-2 years

    e) it even includes some of the SB-stuff and an (unreged) MiamiDX.

    f) it's freaking quite......

    g) Altivec is cool, and I could do lots of nice things with it, if I had a f####ing clue what that Russian was talking about

    h) I still don't like chicken !

Glad its going well @ SNDF.. hope there is good interest in Europe for ODW workstations and Pegasos technology..

    @ Kronos

You can thank me for the Original Morphos install/look . www. magneticsystemsnyc.com will be selling Special Pegasos2 systems soon with even more improvements so stay tuned to that website for updates! Its my custom made install for the ODW. And not only is the Superbundle installed but the Full MOS SDK and more! (arexx,fat95,etc)

Also, the original ODW HD content (YDL/Debian/MOS) were custom made by Sven Luther and myself With additional assistance by The Image Installer Team and Matt S. (neko) for later tweaking/configs.. :-)

OPPs.. and not to forget Dave C (targhan) for MOS install as well :-o

PS: Please remind Bplan guys to please repair my broken Peg2 and let me know if they received it. Please oh please. ;-)

It's not illegal if you own an Amiga or any version of AmigaOS (prior to OS4).
