Welcome to the SuperBundle Sunday! This is the forum for discussing all things SuperStyle!

The SuperBundle is not a static software bundle; no, it is much more than that. Be prepared though, you may see your suggestions come true? What is your dream software package? Don't be surprised, a Genesi official may come in and ask, "application A or application B?"

The release is fast approaching, and the time is finally drawing near. So, would you like hot fudge or caramel on your SuperSunday?

I'd like something that will play modules with little effort. Such as Hippoplayer, Play16 or something of that nature.

Modules were/are one of the great things about our platform, they transcend all the political bullshit that plagues us today. You listen, you're happy :-)

    Just my two cents

I agree! Mods and Meds are great! A friend of mine, a former Amigan with the nick of Vektre, had a program to turn his Meds/Mods into executables! Just click and listen! :-)

Could you zip that thing, or make in an lha file? I don't feel like un-tarballing anything. Anyway, if all parties agree, I could piddle with some kind of gui for that ;-)

Downloaded. Thanks. I'll see what I can do with it. I'll probably not be able to really concentrate on it until after amiwest though.

    targhan:

afaik, it's Open Source player, so anyone skilled enough can port it.

Just wondering, are there / will there be any games in Super Bundle?

    And are they really needed...

Of course, we have "The game, every Pegasos user has":
    Birdieshoot...

But that's been available for ages, so I wouldn't maybe put it in
bundle (Well, it is a good game, but...)

So... Nothing BIG, some rather small ones to kill some time with,
maybe few executables (along with shareware version maybe?) for Open
Sourced PC games, like Doom, Quake, Quake II etc.

So, what do you think? Would they be at right place in bundle?

I have spoken to mr.Orsila who is a very good friend of mine. He has no objection, UADE can be included. And should, it's atm the best mod player there is for Pegasos.

What I'd like to see is an UADE plugin for AmiNetRadio so I could just stick all my modules, mp3s and urls to one big playlist.
    Oh well, just wishful thinking.

I hope they'll get that video editing software done and released soon, I'd buy it in a second (if it's not included in the SuperBundle that is :) - I have plans to edit some videos I've recorded on the Pegasos. Would also really really like that firewire driver....

Dave, check with you know who and if he agrees then go ahead and do it. Just keep things moving ahead for this coming weekend.

Feeble Files and Software Tycoon with the latest updates are part of the SuperBundle. We anticipate adding the Gladiateur version of Northland later. Birdie Shoot is part of the OS.

Looks like th first non-MorphOS item added to the SuperBundle will be PegXLin. We met David last year at WOA and really have appreciated his interest and his effort. Sven will be working with David to get everything pulled together this week. We should have it on the FTP by AmiWest. Included on the CD are:

    KDE 3.1.2(GUI)
    Gnome 2.2(GUI)
    XFree 4.3(X11)
    Cups 1.1.19(Printing management)
    MOL 0.9.69(Mac-on-Linux)
    Bochs 2.0.2(Pc emulator)
    Kernel 2.4.21-benh2
    "Cool video, audio players"
    CD Burning software including video-cd
Digital Camera support (capture, edit, save)
    USB support
    TV card Support (Bt 878 + C8xx)

All in all, it is a great package.

This of course is just a sign of things to come when talented people like David get their hands on a Pegasos. This is what the SuperBundle is all about! :-D

Just one thing Targhan...are we talking about a SuperBundle Sunday or a SuperBundle Sundae?! As much as I like ice cream, we are not sure the Pegasos tastes any different with hot fudge! :-P

In any case, it was a SuperBundle Sunday! :-)

    Sincerely,
    Raquel and Bill

    @BBRV

This is indeed excellent news! Also, the thread is "both" Sunday and Sundae, as it is a play on words ;-) Today it's SuperBundle Sunday, because the AmiWest version is finished (Yay!)! I was going to change it to Sundae later, since this is really a treat for all of the Pegasos owners

The Linux CD looks absolutely incredible. The value added is amazing and growing. Sometimes, I find it difficult to contain my excitement!

EDIT: Author contacted about UADE (or is that maintainer). It is GPL software, and the author has no complaints about including it. I can work on a minimal GUI, and all we need is a GPL/Freeware disk/drawer. Shouldn't be a problem to include later. :-)

No flame intended, but does there really need to be so much Linux stuff included? I'm sure most users didn't go to the extra expense and trouble of a Pegasos to run Linux on it.

Right now there is a 3 to 1 ratio of cd's in MorphOS's favor over Linux. And, as far as I know the Linux CD isn't even finished yet!

I really appreciate a friendly Linux install cd, simply *because* I
didn't get the Pegasos to run Linux. I don't want to spend a lot of
time setting everything up, but if it can be done easily, I'll
certainly install it. I'm not a big Linux fan, but it's far from
useless, and thus more than worth its price.. ;-)!

Everything that is in the SuperBundle is available, but not everyone will use/take everything in the SuperBundle. What you downlaod/use is to the users option.

Kenny: Entire idea here is to make Easy-running linmux for testing/mol use.. You don't have to buy it or something, it's coming as a Downloadable image ... And it's only one disk, rest is going to be MOS stuff.

Gunne: I think it's supposed to be bootable CD so one could boot it even without any MOS on pegasos (Not 100% sure)..

I whould also suggest to have the whole superbundle as iso files available... so I only need to download them once, can them burn to a cd and done. Indeed this should be only a option. For low-bandwith users it mades more sense to provide the super bundle in small parts. :)

    regards,

Yes David's Cd is Bootable fully.. however, it is easier to use MOS to make disk partitions but not necessary!

@Genesi +BBRV Congratulations! Your Superbundle has been realized and it is quite an accomplishment. You are so far ahead of the competition its silly. By the time they even have the OS out you will have many, many native apps and an advanced, time tested - operating system.
Its a great time for Peg users indeed!

Downloadable ISO's is a good idea for our high bandwith community members, but even they would get fed up with huge downloads. The intention is to make a downloadable archive.

In my opinion it would also be a good idea to provide reseller with "bundle packaging," and allow them the ability to burn the iso's for their customers. Again, this is only my opinion, but Genesi charges the reseller for the promotianal items, and the reseller charges their customer a "nominal copy fee." This is, of coarse, assuming that the SuperBundle continues to be provided for free. (Remember, things can change, and different versions of a SuperBundle may come into existance.) Before anyone goes making any news items, I'm just spewing some speculations and ideas.

Yes, Targhan, that is the idea.

We need to find ways to give our Resellers value added opportunities.

We will go in this direction.

    Siincerely,
