Foundation doesn't work an MorphOS. You can get into the game, but short time after, it hangs. Paul Burkey knows about the problem, but he won't cant't?) fix it, because it is written in Blitz Basic.

Only in amiga-land could people seriously ask for patches to a 20+ year old game :)

Well, as you quoted me... this thread has been created 16 years ago. Foundation Gold was 7 or 8 years old at that time.

Apart from that, Foundation (Gold) still is a great game and fun to play.

To be fair, it was only between 5½ and 7½ years (depending on game version) old back then :-)
As for the current third-party patch, it wasn't created due to request but due to the patch author's "fetish [...] to make all works directly from OS4" ;-)

Thanks for that link. I bought the original Foundation (before Discoverd Lands) back then. That must have been in 1998 or 1997. Regarding the hardware requirements, I think it was alway to heavy for "real" 68k Amigas. Sure, Lores on AGA with 030 was ok. But for high resolutions at 640x480 or higher even on 060 Z3 Amigas the gaming experience wasn't that great. This changed with WinUAE or recently with that Vampire or Pistorm stuff.

What I want to say is that Foundation always would have been a great game for HighEnd Amigas like MorphOS machines were (and are).

    Hi

    Thanx for good Job Kas1e

I tried it on PowerBook G4 wirh MOS 3.15. FoundationPrefs looks fine, but I can't choise AHI unit, because no AHI requester to come on the screen. It need to leave to NO SOUND, because Foundation Gold doesn't work if is open Game screen.

Foudation Gold is working, but also with some restriction. If i load saved game, loading is working, but Game is too slow.
New Game is OK, but it is Problem with build buildings, cursor doesn't work properly on the Game screen.
Maybe i make video to better understanding. :)

    Best Regards

I am not sure how this is related to the game that is being discussed here.

Are you aware that you are attempting to monetize intellectual property that you neither created nor own?

But really though? Foundation was disappointing and I did not miss it when moving to MorphOS. Lots of work went into taking advantage of high end accelerators, graphics and sound boards, putting Amiga user faces into it, and so on. But it just didn't gel together into a playable game, and it's certainly no Settlers. It looks and feels unfinished.

Others may love it, but I never did.

And mine came on a CD-R. Jewel case and printed cover looked full quality rather than backroom printer job, but magenta dye CD-R. As such it probably doesn't even read any more, if any of my mid-00s CD-R are anything to judge by...

Thanks should really be redirected to the respective authors Alfkil and kas1e.

    > Do you happen to have or know the same for OS3 AHI RTG and MOS forL [...]

Most of these titles are RTG and happen to run quite fine on MorphOS as is (or even have a MorphOS-native version), and on OS3 all the more.
