Elena Novaretti, developer of the fractals program ZoneXplorer, has made her latest, final version of her program publicly downloadable for free, not having more time to be able to continue its development.

ZoneXplorer 2.0 is compiled for MorphOS, requires at least MorphOS 3.9 and works correctly even in MorphOS 3.15 from various tests.

There are many new features in this latest public version 2.0 of 2017 compared to the previous 1.3 of 2004, detailed in the internal history txt file.

Elena specifies that this software is to be considered beta, not complete and no longer supported, but freely usable.

Good news Elena is back, I remember her png power icons for AmigaOS3.9, MorphOS needs more female programmers!

That must be the reason she waves goodbye forever in the readme:

"THIS VERSION WON'T BE UPDATED ANY MORE - GOODBYE
In 2017 I decided to bring ZX to a new life before closing any amiga/fractals related chapter FOREVER. […] Please do NOT contact me, do NOT report any bugs or anything else. As I said I won't work at this any more being from then on involved with more important and productive projects.
    "

I'm eager to see what more will come from her for MorphOS now that she's back, as you say.

    MorphOS demonstration in the 1990s?

    12/1999: MorphOS announced
08/2000: MorphOS v0.1 for PowerUP released
    12/2000: Pegasos announced
08/2001: MorphOS v0.8 on Pegasos demonstrated
10/2002: MorphOS v1.0 on Pegasos released

Going by that timeline, I suspect that Elena's MorphOS demonstration took place end of 2002 at the earliest.
Your mention of Padua/Padova made me research and I found the Webb.it IT show that took place in May 2003.

No, it still works if you start from a 24 bit screen :-)

You are correct (and Divinity probably misunderstood your question and answered about Elena being back meaning that she has recently re-appeared to announce this release). Elena interests have shifted away from fractals and Amiga/MorphOS, and she is now involved in music and DSP and synthesizers programming under Windows.

    Kind regards,
    Andrea

Hi Mauro, how are you? Andreas is again correct, Elena was in Padova for Webb.it 2003, in May. This means your Peg would be almost 18 years old now... Mine is not that much younger!
Yeah, good old times! Sometimes amusing still today: I spent 5 minutes to check if it was indeed 2003 and in ANN Archives Webb.it 2003 thread I found one of the laughable quotes from BenH. ;)

    Kind regards,
    Andrea

    Hi Guruman,
nice to hear you again! Hope you are fine!
I randomly come here on morphzone to see how MorphOS is evolving but I'm not using Morphos anymore. Btw my love for Amiga is still here and now I'm amusing myself with a classic machine configuration.
Have a nice day my friend!
