Is not better,to pay for MorphZilla then to pay for MorphOs?
In my opinion, now,is most important a good browser...then a new version of MOS...

MorphOS needs a good web browser, with a compatibility like Mozilla/Firefox

Well in a way it has been paid for. just take a look at the Amizilla site with over $8000 in donations to date. I dont think anyone is working on it though. I havent heard a thing from anyone.

Yes there are 2 teams working on the amiga version

it wont be native but it will work.

If non-native port will work on MorphOS, then making native version wouldn't be hard (a few days for good coder).

One of the Amizilla conditions is that it should work on all Amiga style like OSes i.e. OS3.9, OS4, AROS, Amithlon and *MorphOS*.
    Well, the bounty is up @ 8700 US$ that's a start...

Two teams? Well they cant be to active on it then. i havent seen anything posted on how they are doing, or if they even know what they are doing. I would guess they are having a hard time of it then.

Well, at least one project can be found at:
    http://sourceforge.net/projects/amizilla

    Mailing list at:
    http://groups.yahoo.com/group/amizilla/

The core library of Mozilla (nspr) has been ported (first version),
    there is progress, but slow.

If there is a second team, I don't know. If there is one, they are
    very secret ;).

from what i understand teh second team is keeping everyhting very secret and does not have many coders working on the project, and needless to say it is a slow ongoing effort, i cant for the life of me remember who told me that but thats what i have heard. i was told that a while ago so it may be outdated information by now....hey mabey they will release it tomarow! lol

Hmm, the last couple of days I've been thinking about working on it myself- $8,000 is a lot of money- it makes it worth while! I need to teach myself MUI and C programming anyway- so it would be a good project to force myself! :-)
I'll go along and see where Sourceforge team is up to.

At least when my son inherits my Pegasos after I die of old age, he can look forward to using MorphZilla. ;-) ... Just kidding, Ants. I don't know if it'd be worth the money considering how many hours it'll take, but if you want to get into a project, why not? :-)

Feel free, to join us. The first steps are not to learn C and MUI, but to
dig into the build environment and get configure and the Makefiles
running. Expect a big amount of sources, my build at the moment takes
more than 2GB of harddrive space (sources and object files).

The CVS is readable to everyone, so you are all welcome to have a look
    or to join!

Ack! , thats why people dont take it on!! It can be done. I mean if they can do it for OS2 and for BeOS, OSX and older MacOS why not for MorphOS or AmigaOS? All it takes is some dedication and time.

Yeah, that'll probably be the hardest part! :-)

Eeeek!! Ok, may need a new HDD...

I can't promise that I'll have the time free yet- I'll have to see. I do have plenty of programming experience though- game programming in C=64 basic, Amos, Blitz and Assembler. I know enough Amiga OS programming to work from, and have tinkered around a bit in GCC. :-)
