OWD mostly works still but is sadly behind the OS4 version. I was curious why the 68k version, especially the one found in the AmiKit latest releases doesnt work in MorphOS? I can get it to run but it locks ups. The same is true for other archives and versions I have found.

Is OWB still the best we can do for now?

Yes, behind even if the version number is the same. It works better and I was wondering if anyone has got any of the NerSurf versions to work. I am using them on my A4000T and it's actually an impressive browser now.

I am also interested to know why Netsurf doesn't work.

I get identical behavior with Acill (68k port runs and then locks up/crashes). OS4 port doesn't seem to install properly for whatever reason (I can't get to show the main executable after installation). The AGA Netsurf requests a specific screenmode (that doesn't states which one it is) and exists without even showing the main window of the browser.

I can't test right now unfortunately. (Besides, NetSurf 3.4 and 3.5 are old versions from 2016).

Well, the author of Netsurf 68k (Artur Jarosik) has got a G4 PowerBook with registered MorphOS, so it's just a matter of motivation. Maybe if certain number of people would poke him through e-mail he'd reconsider making a MorphOS-compatible version?

Well, is Netsurf stable on 68k?

For actual web browsing, I find it to be too limited but Netsurf could be truly great as a comparatively light-weight document viewer (rich user manuals with images, tables, etc.) and for similar more specialized purposes.

To read html documentation Ibrowse also works fine.

Maybe so but having basic HTML5 and CSS support is certainly very welcome when you create documentations, etc.

Plus, iBrowse is a commercial closed source application.

With Vamp V4 68k could really have enough horsepower for more decent browser. There is also MUI5 back port.

Streaming, yes, but playing is done by external FFplay as can be seen in the video.

It's not a browser feature if an external program is used. I had IBrowse streaming videos through MPlayer too.

But solutions like this are by no means unusual. You should see what people have to do to get a Chromecast to play anything but .mp4/H.246.

I was objecting to the "playing" part, not to the "streaming" part.
