    Hello all
Found my way in here since I came across a powerbook G4 A1106 1.67 Aluminum
and found out that it will be compatible with morph OS as faar I understand.

Usually I hang on swedish amigasite safir and aros-exec but all Amiga related flavours are interesting to me. I'm 52 and work as a electrical technician, been with amiga since the late 80s erly 90ies.And Im an absolute newbe on morph os but have some experience from 68k and aros. verry light skills in python and lua and some minor insight in C language.(mostly plc in my line of work)

    A few questions thou.

Is there any tutorial to install morph os as dual boot option on my powerbook ?
and after installing, What is suggested to add/uppdate to the release version ?

I also understand that I need to change the wireless card that the powerbook has as default to get wireless going. Any suggestions there ?

Much questions to be a first post here..but if you don't ask You never know..

    Happy upcomming holiday all.

    Welcome!

I guess dualboot guide found here in library should work with PB too:
    http://library.morph.zone/Dual-boot_MorphOS_and_MacOS_X_on_a_Mac_Mini_G4
And you can first try MorphOS on your computer without installing it by booting the installation/live CD.

There are basically three options how you can start build your own setup after initial installation. 1) Download software for example from MorphOS files and install them by yourself. 2) Download Grunch packet manager and let it do the installation on selected software. 3) Download and install Pack Chrysalis, which is a collection of software and predefined settings for your system.

In any case I'd suggest you to first browse through all the system settings and provided software yourself, to find out what's possible to configure and how you'd like them. Chrysalis is an easy way to have a peek how you can modify and set up your system, but there's a danger that it doesn't give the result you'd like your system afterall.

MorphOS comes with good selection of software already, so you might not need to install that much 3rd party stuff at first, but for example MPlayer and the latest version of Odyssey Web Browser are very recommended.

If you want your old Amiga software to the system, I'd recommend to copy them over from your Amiga setup instead of installing them from scratch. Just copy dirs and add required lines to S:user-startup.

For wireless, build-in card isn't supported, but you don't have to _change_ anything (no need to remove old), just plug in a new supported card into PCMCIA slot on left side of the Powerbook and then it appears on network settings. About supported cards here is a thread about it.

BTW. Lua works by default on MorphOS and you can interract with it with other programs via ARexx ports. Run your scripts with LuaX command.
