Why on eartha nyone would like to run Win 3.11 anyway? Or 95/98?

There are literally dozens of more interesting emulators out there.

So what happens when you try running PC-Task on MorphOS? Maybe you could post a screenshot? Maybe bochs or dosbox will do what you need, did you try them?

    Is it really running ?

    http://www.ann.lu/comments2.cgi?view=1095921775&category=events&start=101#message138
    MSG 138 lists it, MSG 141 says it's just a pic ...

Is it running on an A1 or a classic PPC ?
On a classic there is all the hardware still there ...

PC-Task was crap when I tried it with my real amiga,
why should it change when it runs on an "cloned amiga"

Either it is running on PowerUP/OS4 or OS4 emulates CIA timers. Wrapper for ciab.resource could be enough if it is not hitting hardware directly.

    Hi!
With the help of the Bootmanager and marquis script
    http://www.pegasosforum.de/dload.php?action=file&file_id=247
you can boot your qemu-windows/linux MOLs, UAE, freevo and
    other stuff directly from firmware...
So why use such an outdated emulator?
    bye

Me too. Lot's of emulators are GPL/Open source and with a little bit work could be ported.

Plus the question remains, what will you do with deadslow PC-emulator? PC-Task was useless back in the days, it's just as useless today.

You must have had a hardfile already right? I couldn't get anywhere (I only had Pctask 3.3) since I was limited by trying to boot on floppy. It didn't want to read from my Catweasel.

You have to make an hardfile on an Classic Amiga and boot from it on
    your Pctask under MOS.

Dont know is the Catweasel works great on this situation.

    @serge:

I am surprised to hear that it might be slower than Bochs. PC-Task is an old Amiga 68k emulator and so it should be very light on its feet compared to Bochs, which is an emulator designed for much more powerful systems. Years ago, I liked PC-Task for the fun of it, and messsing around. But I never really used it in a practical way. It would be nice if Chris Hames would open source it. I am sure it would be speedier than Bochs if it was developed for MorphOS some. Hey, maybe he would do so if we sent him a free developer Pegasos. ;-)

I also got PC-task working on morphos, but couldnt get my HD images mounted... But why bother? Bochs and Dosbox can do the same and more :-)

If PCTask REALLY does run on OS4, it does it because Petunia includes a full MMU emulator.

Trance does not (it would destroy the speed).

Amiga apps that use the MMU are rare as rocking horse sh*t.

Running Bochs under MorphOS would be factors faster than PCTask under Trance, plus Bochs emulates a Pentium 4 and allows you to run more than 15-year-old software.

timofonic.. please get with the times.

I also heard ppl getting PCTask to run on MOS (never tried myself).
The advantage of PC-Task is, that - even it is quite old - it had an
experimental x86 JIT which was quite speedy. But when bochs comes with
a JIT nobody will ask about PC-Task anymore. Until then it could be
faster (even if it runs emulated still - Trance is just a
    performer).

    @Neko:

No, I think they said about that OS4 screenshot that it was not PC-Task running, it was a static image of PC-Task they got from somewhere else. This seems rather fraudulent, but I don't know the details. Hey! Why don't we obtain screenshots of the latest Windows games and display them in a image viewer at conventions then circulate those pics? Just kidding...

When you say this stuff that Bochs under MorphOS is faster than PC-Task under Trance... lets see some benchmarks you did if you are going to say that like such a know-it-all.
