    The links are now there!

Thanks to Gerald, Thomas, Sven and Matt who flew in from Europe; Dave who drove from Alabama; and Paul and Thomas who flew in from NY and Las Vegas respectively.

    It was a great week.

    R&B :-)

    P.S. https://www.pegasosppc.com/store.php :-o

    Great gallery and report but:

.What impact will this have in future Pegasos (and MorphOS) developments ?

.The fact that production is already sold out is a good point but on the other hand it means that no one can buy a Pegasos2 anymore: will that change ? Will the Pegasos2 ever be built in enough quantities ?

.The word "largest" order means nothing to us as we have no idea on the size of previous Freescale orders (and seeing the small quantities of Pegasos2 produced in latest Amiga/Pegasos-dealers productions, it seems to not be that "big" (ex.: ~100 Peg2 in december 2003 IIRC))
=> can we have any precisions ?

.Sometime ago you mentionned that anyone could buy a licence and build a Pegasos: is it still on the way ?

Anyway, that's good to see Freescale are having interest in Pegasos ;)

    Leo.

You can STILL buy a Pegasos 2 from any dealer
who has them in stock! The Genesi web store is
not really meant for single board transactions,
but more for resellers. Resellers have a plethora
of ways of ordering boards (phone, fax, email,
snailmail, knocking at the door in Oberusel :)

"Largest", along with suspending single orders
on the website, means it's going to suck up
entire production runs to fulfill (along with
other large orders), leaving none really left
    for ordinary individual users.

This *is* a good thing! Just contact your local
Pegasos reseller as they have more of a chance
of being on the next production run if they order
many boards than you ordering a single device.

As for the future of Pegasos - as long as people
want it, it will be made, and as long as there
are new technologies and processor options then
they will be evaluated and possibly rolled into
future editions. We already announced using the
MPC7447A and IBM 750GX. These processors are
    literally hot off the fab!

As for MorphOS - as long as we see uses for it
(mainly in media intensive environments, since
it kicks dust in Linux's face) then it will be
improved and released. MorphOS is a revenue
stream for Genesi the same way the Pegasos is,
it's just you haven't seen it integrated into any
devices besides the Pegasos yet ;)

The words of Neko are true. The resellers either have, will have, or will order enough boards to meet the demands. It is a good thing.

MorphOS development is ongoing, and is still very important to the future of Genesi.

Oh to be in the enviable position of having more orders than production can fulfill. Course the obvious answer might be to add more production capacity?

I mean: will I ever be able to go to a local dealer, buy a Pegasos and come back to home with it ? Just like you could do with a Mac ?

The fact that production is full is a good thing but what about increasing it ?

About MOS dev.: any chance new developers are hired (again): it seems very few (if none at all) people are full-time working on MorphOS ?

From the answeres you got it sounds like it's pretty much up to your local dealer. *MY* local dealer (http://www.ggsdata.se) has secured a stock! :-)
MorphOS is Amiga done right! :-)
MorphOS NG will be AROS done right! :-)

GGS Data, Vesalia, and other resellers are usually willing to ship internationally too. My advice is to simply check around before a purchase. Different dealers will have different costs, shipping rates, and goodies.

Some are new, and others have a proven track record. Don't fall into the trap of taking a long time to decide to buy a new computer, only to spend five minutes ordering it. Use the same care in purchasing that you do in deciding to purchase. Take your time when you buy a system, look around, check out all the dealers. Find the dealer who makes the most sense to you.

    Thanks!

We are looking toward SNDF Europe in September. We would like to bring many from the various Pegasos development communities to SNDF when it comes to Frankfurt. Check out the sessions from the SNDF just completed HERE.

We think this will be a great opportunity to pull together the core MorphOS Team, other Pegasos Developers and the Freescale people. We would like to have at least 20 Developers there participating. Freescale has already agreed to sponsor the involvement of our selected attendees.

Pegasos is stil a 'word of mouth' platform. Genesi are working hard to spread the word within the industry but effectively you almost need to know everything about it before you do.

You *can* buy Pegasos at a dealer but should you expect that there are 100s of dealers with lots of inventory on hand? I don't think so. Dealers are, after all, the guys who take the risk on the inventory (assuming manufacturer didn't overproduce... ;-) )

Re: MorphOS - should a contract or a paying OEM require MOS in a solution then I'd expect development to speed up radically. Until something like that happens then Pegasos follows the linux hounds.... This has been stated pretty clearly in many corporate communications.

    NOW GO BUY ONE!!!! :-D

    Steve

PS Congrats to Genesi, looks like the SNDF went well.

When the Pegasos will sell as much as Macs ...
How many Pegasos did you buy ? How much did you spent at your Pegasos dealer in the last year ? How many people do spend a decent amount of money so the Pegasos can be available locally ?

I don't care where I can obtain a PowerMac, BUT I WANT MORPHOS FOR
    POWER MAC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)
So I could carry around my Amiga MorphOS System and show everybody
out there, that would rule supreme!
