Genesi must change their attitude... (timo's rant)

Genesi must change their attitude, isn't good for a company make delays of a lot of months to their sellers even if aren't companies and is only a geek guy that likes a good updated substitute of his amiga, isn't a good attitude for a company, it will create bad reputation, and the reputation is more important for a small and new company that is beginning that other with their consolidated market.

I don't want to do bad publicity or spread FUD, Genesi is doing nice things as supporting developers and others, but must solve his problems...

By example, at this moment Genesi seems abandonate a bit the MorphOS team, maybe Genesi is ignoring MorphOS because they win money with linux and Freescale? I like a lot MorphOS and not like that dead. I think that linux isn't for all markets and MorphOS can hs own niche on some markets...

I want more communication, solve the problems as those with MorphOS team...

That's all, I know that managing a company is very difficult and complex and the things can be different if you suffer and I know that a company isn't a non-profit organization... but I want some things better...

I'm not against Genesi/bbrv, simply said that I think...

You need to understand that Genesi is a company and as such are in the business of making money. That doesnt mean they have to give things away or stop promoting software that is making them money and generating sales. All of us like MorphOS, but lets face it, we are a small part of the pegasos future now. You need to face that and just hope we get someting in the near future. You cant keep blaming Genesi for waning to be a successfull company.

On another note I say to the MOS team why not charge for all future large MorphOS releases? You want money? We are offering to give it. If AmigaOS4 can sell for $140 here in the US at Software hut I am sure you can get a good share as well for a Major release of MorphOS.

Enough is said! Just relax a bit and wait. Genesi haven't dropped MOS.
neither is the MOS team not developing. They work and you will get a
    MOS 1.5.
We all noticed that something *is* going on and the only thing one can
wonder is why there is no official staement regarding this obvious
    "ongoing". But that's it.

In the meantime calm down and be asured that MOS is still in Genesi's
plan and the MOS team ist still on work.

    Cheers

You have a good point. The only thing i am afraid to imagine that they
would make the same fault like AmigaONE and that eyetech thing.

It is like this: it is coming it is coming, yeah it will be at
christmas, oh sorry it will be february, april, marth, etc etc.

I have waited so long on my amigaone the whole period i totally
freaked out. Than I had enough of it and read about the mighty pegasos
who was in development continiously and put the amigaone at the
    background.

I have no regred buying the pegasos,

pffff 8-D finally i spread the words i wanted to say a long time ago.

As usual, when communication slows down, anxiety
    increases. This is understandable
    .
It is encouraging when a company communicates
with it's users, even if the news is good or bad.

I hope Morphos can continue to be a part of
    a profitable business overall.

Neither am I, but I do know them and I know they are still developing.

The website change is a visible symptom of a political spat which has been going on for a very long time now, it's nothing new and not something worth worring about.

PM = "Private Message" The mailbox under the "log out" link. BBRV both reads and responds to the PM's on this site.

The fact that the MorphOS Team is still working on things is not a secret. Pay a visit to #MorphOS, and you will catch bits and pieces of conversations that should indicate that development is still underway.

Not at all! :-x Without Genesi there would hardly have been any April 1 and 2, and certainly not any Pegasos 2. You would not have seen this developer support (for MorphOS, Linux, etc) and no "phree-boards" of any kind. You would not have seen the efforts of pushing the Pegasos and MorphOS on trade shows (both inside and outside this community). The Pegasos would probably not have such great Linux support without Genesi. The Pegasos would probably not have gained any attention at all without Genesi.

What you fail to realize (and a few others too it seems) is that it is *Genesi* that has made everything you have today possible, and IMHO Genesi is doing a *fine* job! The SNDF Europe is just around the corner, and this is *the second* event of this kind that Genesi is taking part of and this time it will be even bigger than the last time, with some healthy focus on the Pegasos through seminars and *free developer machines*, etc. There will be two more events like this later this year. Genesi and the Pegasos are actually *supported* by Freescale (which is something more than being mentioned on their webpage). The price of the Pegasos will probably drop in a near future, new hardware may come soon (a 7447A CPU card is probably first in the line). Some real business seems to be taking off slowly, thanks to the Pilot programs and other Genesi efforts.

Elektro, I would be really sad if all this "went away" as you suggests.
MorphOS is Amiga done right! :-)
MorphOS NG will be AROS done right! :-)

Elektro, don't be stupid. Have you read the latest news ? certified Mysql partne, Sony case study, Freescale, SNDF.
How all of this happened ? people are working hard at Genesi and they are doing a fantastic job, things happen and they will succeed very soon. I rather BBRV working on this kind of priority than wasting time explaining thousand time the same thing. Mos is a great product but thanks god Genesi looks at all possibilities. the ODW will bring new user attention for Morphos and I believe it the bbest way to bring Mos in each home.
Thanks BBRV and again Good Job !!

    Not,
    I am serious.

Genesi = a alot of words.

When I've bought the PegasosII the site pegasosppc.com says:

"There are a number of Operating Systems being ported to the Pegasos. These include:

    OpenBeOS. etc etc "

I'm wrong or the port of BeOS is now stopped because GENESI dont pay developers....????
And....why MOS is stopped????perhaps....becasu Genesi dont pay th developers???
I am really serious if Genesi is not able to do their work is not a my prob.
MOS is stopped...ok we have Linux...mmmh...NOT,I've not bought a Pegasos for Linux but becasue Pegasos it means MOS and....Amiga....we know it!

Genesi did wrong things, but did and are doing good things. Let's see if MorphOS isn't dead with the time, I'm sure if MorphOS development stopped for ever and not new version(s) released, Genesi will be very blamed and atacked... Only the time will say... Let's see if they give us someday a very nice surprise, who knows...

Hi everyone...it's always good being a new person here, especially here... most no one will take me seriously and I know less then nothing about the Pegasos/MorphOS.. but if I was a new company , facing many pitfalls and perks ...and with what seems like new technology,at least for us...I'd have to say BBRV seem like their hearts are into it, they answered all of my little questions , and quickly too... maybe they need a rest or a change...or are just fed up ... after all this is a big undertaking ...and with great courage , have put their names and reputations on the line ...... this forum has so many outstanding qualities its difficult to put it all in perspective ... coming from an artists background , I almost always have little sympathy for Corporations.... but there are the exceptions..... I agree with everyone here for valid points of view...Not to be rhetorical, but I know that time is all we have so maybe just give the powers to be a pass on the inception date of MorphOS1.5 and dig into the exciting existing OS and neat little gadgets on the system now ... if I had a Peg... i would be answering all the concerns by just jumping in and using it ... anyone can can resolve any problem with a little effort... it's an ideal time to be here with Pegasos, i see it as a breakthrough system ... I'm beginning to ramble here , so I'll cut it short .... and just say a cliche' we all know well ......"i cried about having no shoes .....until i saw a man with no feet"... I know BBRV are doing this adventure for more than just money ....cause they told me so in a reply to a question ...(in so many words).... thank you for your patience with me ... now if I could remember where I left the book on introduction to computers ...
