Exactly as the topic title says.

Are there online payment systems similar to PayPal available in Europe?

I would like to start up more bounties for app development for MorphOS, but have hit a wall when it comes to paying people or companies in Europe in the euro currency. Most traditional ways of paying are too costly and inefficient compared to what I use now, online payment.

Not in whole Europe. Poland is one of countries where it's not available.

Here is a list of the countries where PayPal is available. There are about 45 ccountries around the world.

There are some people who either do not want to (or cannot) sign up for a PayPal account. Some people have either heard stories (about money going missing and so on..) or have issues themselves. From what I've read, it appears that most if not all issues happened before PayPal was bought out by Ebay. Ebay is a large corporation worth billions, so they should be able to deal with situations quickly and responsibly. For small amounts of money PayPal is affordable and works! For larger amounts of money, there are other traditional ways of sending/receiving money.

For example, let's say that in 2005 we have over 25,000 MorphOS users.

If each of these were able to send $15- $20 to the developers of their favourite applications, we would have a much more productive and interesting market. Now I'm not saying that the developers would earn millions overnight, but certainly a few thousand $$$ in their pockets would make this a much nicer environment to support, right? :-D

Hey, its not a perfect world, but we do our best! :-D

You do know that the bounties site is just about done right? We are looking for someone to manage the paypal and the Amazon donaton accounts still. It seems not a single person and steped up yet. The site is about 90% complete now. I have used it and its awsome.

I ca not read russia, but I am sure you can. Maybe you can look up the websites of the large banks in russia to see what kind of online payment systems they are involved with.

Just wanted to throw in, there's also Moneybookers. Supposed to serve more countries than PayPal. But I haven't got any first-hand experience with them.
