I didn't "choose" any 3.0. That's just the development branch, not the release one (2.x for now).

You allude to the USB problem?

What USB problem? You mean that MorphOS on Mac Mini is delayed to difficulties in the USB driver? Are the technical issues in this release known publicly?

MorphOS Mac Mini version is not delayed. There are no specific USB problems.

Guys, don't be so jumpy. We're getting there.

It appears some users are relating the AOS 4.x/macmini-thingy with the Morphos/macmini-thingy :-) which should be irrelevant..
My estimation is that the problem mentioned here about the 4.x/macmini problem is primarily the inability to boot from hd. All other issues can be secondary.
@Piru: Keep up the great work, we can always wait 2 more weeks!
     :-D

Technically it can't be delayed as it has no release date so you are spot on on that :-D

Are we there yet daddy? Are we there yet? etc etc

I've mananged to get my hands on Dual 2000 G4 Power mac (for less that the cost of a Sam or Peg 2 etc etc..) so my Mac Mini is just sitting there waiting for MorphOS, I mean MacOS X on 512 MB of ram? sloooooooow!

So hurry up I want to give you money!

From the link: "Unfortunately this method seems to fail often to load the USB stack."

    > You mean that MorphOS on Mac Mini is delayed to difficulties in the
    > USB driver?

No, I don't. CountRaven was talking about OS4, not MorphOS. And consequently so was I in my answer to him.

See the link in my answer to CountRaven. Unfortunately, as he didn't answer my question about the USB problem yet, I don't know what's not serious about this method booting OS4 off HDD on Mac mini.

he might have meant serious as in load, install and go...not the jumping through hoops process, as I wouldn't even try, because it just appears too technical.
As for 512k on the mini (which I have), will that be sufficient in using OWB, MPlayer, Mame? (simultaniously) especially owb, as it digs into the mem. atleast on efika.

BTW 2.3 is the best release to date! :-)

Yes, maybe, but that's not what he said :-)

OWB and MAME memory consumption can vary very much depending on content. Some MAME games can require about 400MB ram (at least for decryption), and OWB obviously depends on the quantity/weight of browsed sites.

But 512MB is generally ok for that usage, way more than 128 in any case. :)

@Fab Thanks Fab, didn't want to open it unless absolutely necessary, (heard of issues with snipping the dvdrw wire)

    @Madlax good deal and welcome!!

Are you sure you're not frauded and there's an A500 inside the Mini case? I mean 512*k* sound quite like an A500 or - even worse - an Atart 520ST...

I dunno man... Just been thinking of posting this question for quite a while because I've had a strange feeling about it...

Anyway is this a known or unknown or obvious-already issue about the dual boot? See I got my mac for 3.5 years, been using it all time. Of course it gets slower, this is why it received massive downgrade recently (I mean the software) and now works fine thanks to that.

I just cannot think of thrashing my OSX license. I like Mac OS and do not want to choose between MOS and OSX because I simply wouldn't like being put that way. All the more the issue itself doesn't seem deeply technical or even weird. Eventually I think I'd choose a brand new hardware as far as I know myself.

And BTW MOZONE CMS sucks because I cannot login under MSIE8. Chrome on the other hand doesn't display buttons.
Was: Mac Mini PPC running MorphOS 2.4
Now: Amiga Forever 2010 with AmiKit and AmigaSYS
Not used: Icaros Desktop 1.2 (reason: no wifi)
    Planned soon: an OS4 system
Shortly then: a MOS notebook (wifi is a must-have)

Some MorphOS-Team member said WLAN is rather unlikely. The driver itself may be bearable, but the secure layer is another story. WPA2 will probably not happen and WLAN w/o WPA2 is rather useless. If youu want to have no long cable inside the house you may add a WLAN router / AP beside the mini and connect both with a short cable. This may not be the dream-solution, but a fairly-okay soulution.
