    Hi all,

this new support will certainly be nice and fine but how about a lot more high quality software for MorphOS?
Like a fully featured image processing program, a modern DTP program, a fully featured paint program which could finally replace TVPaint, some pdf/postscript manipultation tools with gui, a gui for mencoder, and, and, and...

IMHO MorphOS software becomes seriously missing at least to me...

    Regards
    Christoph

    Jambalah,

yes indeed, I (we) also try to use as much as possible MorphOS software to do everything I need for my projects, if it's for printing purposes like brochures, flyers, etc. or public presentations in kiosk solutions, or audio and video pojects, small 3d projects as well as a complete buisness database solution which handles all the offers, articles, orders and bills, mostly all is done with MorphOS or 68k software but thera are software which gets quite old or is even missing now.

I very much hope that others also see the importance of a larger quality software offer for MorphOS, because IMO the best OS in the world want/can't be much used if a lot of software for it is missing or not available!

    Yes, it's this one:

You don't have the computer from the bounty description. Your computer is this one:

Or 3000 to this bounty (since that was the threshold) and 500 of your money to some other project maybe? ;-)

I agree with TMHG, 3000 euros should be the final pot and Frag only donates as much as is needed to get there. He should be the LAST man donating to fulfill the 3000 euro barrier, be it 1000, 500, 200, 100 or 50 euros.

At least that's what I read from that posting from almost two months ago:

    http://www.amiga.org/forums/showpost.php?p=708262

That's with VBO & FBO support, as stated (which we don't currently have). Those shouldn't be required to reach same functionality we already have with other boards, but of course both are really nice updates, and should be done eventually :-)

    serge,

Difficult to say at the moment, but if it's got a Radeon graphics card on the AGP connection, ie not PCI-X, I'd be optimistic it would work.

I think we just need to wait to see if the others models are compatible or not.

I think it should even work with a PCI Radeon card in one of the PCI-X slots instead of an AGP Radeon card in the AGP slot.

Probably, I was getting PCI-X confused with PCIe.

The graphics card is AGP. The only difference between my mac and the one described on bounty is the other slots which are not PCI 32 bit but PCI-X.

    I'm praying.

Actually, the PCI slots in your Mac are 64-bit ones running at 33 MHz. PCI-X is essentially just 64-bit PCI clocked higher.

Thank you sir. So at the moment we have: 3162,35 EUR, bounty status is set as assigned to BigFoot. If some one still want to contribute - feel free to do so.

I'm awaiting for an infomation from AmigaDave about 1st G5 shipped.

Btw. Scored nice G5 2.7Ghz today for myself :)

You`re welcome but it looks like it would have made it to 3000 easily even if I hadn`t contributed, I think Bigfoot is pretty stunned. It`s especially heart-warming that even other MorphOS developers put money in!

We have PM G4s with 2 CPUs and in the Future G5s also with 2 CPUs. So it would be great to use them.
I know that SMP is not easy to implement in our System.

Would it be possible to use the 2nd CPU in a "fixed" mode? Someting like a list where you can choose for applications which CPU to use. Or reggae librarys use the 2nd CPU if present.
I just got the idea as I read an old article about the PPC cards made by Phase 5.
