birthday

Today marks the twenty year anniversary of the very first public release of MorphOS, which ran exclusively on Commodore Amiga computers equipped with phase5 PowerPC accelerator cards.

The MorphOS development team would like to thank all MorphOS users for their on-going support and interest.

Congratulations to the entire Team and everyone else involved during the time! I remember when MorphOS supported a Mac Mini, and from that day forward, I have stuck with MorphOS. :) Thank you!

Well, haven't installed it the day it came out, but the 0.4 came rather quickly to my Blizzard200/40. And it was useful from day 1 - used it a lot. The 68k speed was not too slow in comparison to the installed 040/25, some progams run better than before, others failed, some were faster, some slower.
But it amazed me right from the start and does so still.

Raising my glass, congrats to the team!

I started my adventure with MorphOS on A1200 with Blizzard PPC 175/040 25MHz and AGA, then there was a loooong break until finally Efika appeared on which I installed MorphOS 2.3, then iMac G4 moved to the tower case, and now several PowerBooks with the latest system.

Congratulations to all concerned, be that developers or users, as without both the OS would not have made amazing progress for 20 years. It is the best Amiga-like system there is - without doubt (IMHO 8-) ).
Glad to be a user, and kudos to all in the Development Team, past and present. :bloons: Here's to the future. 8-D

Congratulations to the whole team and everyone involved, and sincere thanks for all the dreams that you have made come true - a post-68k successor of the AmigaOS that became a real success! I still remember the excitement when reading the surprising news on a German news page on that day and installing it immediately on my CyberstormPPC that felt so bored and underused due to the little amount of software for many years. I was so excited to finally using the first PowerPC OS on my Amiga 4000 and it was a full success, even with rebooting every two hours. This lure never let me go again. Since then it became my daily driver on various hardware models. I am very glad and thankful to the whole team for this beautiful gift MorphOS, for all the hard work you put into it day by day, for creating this wonderful operating system over two decades now. It drives the Amiga forward and shows what even a small team of enthusiasts and spirit can achieve. Without you, without MorphOS, I would have left the Amiga scene long ago. Thanks to you I am still purchasing hardware, software and contributing. Cheers to each and all of you!

About 21years ago I had a Blizzard PPC 160/40. Running AmigaOS and a useless Quake PPC Version which was even slower
than 68k version. I sold my card inklusive Bvision for 260 Euro.
Since 2011 I own a G4 Powermac running Morphos - the best "@migaOS" I ever saw. Thanx a Lot to the Morphos Team! og tillykke med fødselsdagen.

20 years, and still alive and kickin'! Congratulations to the team for this amazing anniversary! I started in 2003 with MorphOS and a Pegasos1. This combination was so much ahead of what "Amiga" defined at that time. I'm currently not using MorphOS actively, but I'm happy to try the AMD64 version when it comes out.

Congratulations to every developer who has ever worked on MorphOS, and a very sincere thank you for all of the incredible FREE updates, that have been given to all of us users, year after year.

MorphOS is truely an amazing value for the price of license admission. It is a shame that some users find the license fee and having the license tied to specific system hardware, a reason for NOT joining us and enjoying the best Amiga-Like OS by far.

I look forward to another 20+ years (if I live that long).

    Thanks again MorphOS Dev. Team
MorphOS - The best Next Gen Amiga choice.
