Fabien 'Fab' Coeurjoly has now released version 1.15 of Odyssey, the web brower of MorphOS.

Read readme file
Download owb-morphos-1.15.lha (18,5 Mb).
Download owb-morphos-1.15-nosvg.lha (16,2 Mb).

Changes:

- Updated to WebKit r98566 (October 2011).
- Tabs are now detachable when dropped outside of the window. They can also be
attached to another existing window by dropping them on the target window
webview/tab group.
- Added an new autoscroll mode when doubleclicking middle mouse button (click
button again to abort).
- Added GETTITLE REXX command.
- Updated a couple useragents.
- Improved dragimage for selected text. It now looks 1:1 like selected content.
- Make sure search suggestion poplist is closed when the search string is validated.
- Made AltGr key work in googledocs.
- Applied a patch to prevent mydrive.ch from hanging when uploading.
- Threading layer reworked so that a task uses only one signal for all its child threads. It avoids "out of exec signal" situations that prevented
from running more than 3-4 mediaplayer instances at the same time.
- Restore video fullpage/overlay mode after switching a webview to fullscreen/window mode.
- Hide panels when switching a webview to fullscreen mode and restore state when switching back.
- Make sure all media elements instances are disposed when closing a webview (WebKit would sometimes forget some).
- When running out of memory, the "death requester" now also gives the choice between retrying the allocation (giving a chance to free some memory from another application) or attempting to quit the application (it might just fail!).
- Fixed YouTube HTML5 fullscreen mode (Youtube_Fullscreen_Fix.js).
- Updated youtube.js.

    Nice work Fab.

But maybe i just found a bug in threading:

When selecting a hyperlink, it sometimes happens
that OWB does not load the new view (url). Status bar just says: 0 bytes read. At that point, owb does not accept any new urls.
When i restart Owb again and select the same hyperlink again, everything works fine.
    regards

Dunno why you get that, but it's unrelated to threading, at least (threads aren't involved at that point, only for mediaplayer and other things).
On the other hand, i noticed a bug (nothing new), when you happen to change time (today's DST change) while OWB is running, which indeed causes this kind of issue.

    Hi Fab,

the problem did not appear again, perhaps the reason might be the system time.

To answer your question on IRC (since you left), you can remember the downloaded files. Just enable the option "remember downloaded files" in prefs->download.
The list of finished and failed files will then be saved and restored (and can also be retried/resumed if wanted).

could "the open in new tab" function in the context menu of quicklinks, open the link in a "background" tab?

It could, though some would like the opposite behaviour, some one more entry there, i guess. In the meanwhile, you can also drop the fastlink to the "new tab" button to achieve what you want.

or is it possible to implement middle-mouse-click of quicklink buttons to open in background tab (just like "normal" links)?

Not really suitable, because mmb (and mmb doubleclick) is already used to scroll in the quicklink virtual group (happens when there are more rows than the allowed displayed rows amount in owb gui settings)

Sites that I go to such as this one and the Tales of Tamar site do not automatically place my username and password into the log-in box. Is this possible please?

"remembering form logins/passwords (settings->privacy->remember form credentials). When it's enabled, you'll be asked if you want to save a login/password pair when validating a form or authentication window."

    Did you enable this?
