    A new Morphos?....Again???
    What's next, Morphos 2003, Morphos 2003NT or Morphos 2004SE.
Sorry for being cynical, but I always liked Amiga, and hopefully Morphos aswell, for releasing an update when it REALY worked.
Even if it took them a few years.
Why not leave this version to it's job to convert some souls from the big herd and amaze the world in a year or two with a new Morphos miracle. :-?

Because 1.3 has some features that could be improved (and by the way I don't want to wait years for an own TCP/IP stack).

Heard the 1.4 release could be delayed some days. So nothing to bother too much about, but a little extra pation *might* be required. But maybe we will see it during the very next days...

Huh? Well... If you want to wait for a big humongous surprise then you can always wait 'til MOS 2.4 comes out before installing it. ;)

I much rather have access to the JIT and hopefully bug fixes... Granted 1.3 does work quite nicely here, it's always nice to get additional support. :)

Would you rather not have had the 3.9 Boing Bags? Would you rather have stuck to AmigaOS 1.1 when 1.3 came out?

I also doubt it will be released until a few days after the weekend.
Surely it will be demoed at Amiwest, but.. :)

Honestly...I don't want to see the public release of MOS 1.4 until the TCP stack is ready. This is a must have item.

I would NOT want to have TCP/IP with MorphOS 1.4...

As that is something, that's not necessary for basic system operation,
I think, it would better fit SuperBundle instead...

As important as TCP/IP is for many, it should still be kept fully
    optional..

Yeah, better make it optional, so that anyone feeling
like it, can just download it from the net.. hmm yeah, thats it.

Huh? If you don't have access, ask your dealer to confim your purchase of a Pegasos to Nicholas Sallin (nsallin at fr.genesi.lu) so that he can add you to the BT2-mailing list and send you the access information for the FTP-server.

I think there is a need of an installer application for MorphOS, where you can choose what to install, but I do think that on the bootable CD, the TCP/IP stack should be installed, as today most users do have access to the net with their computers and it would feel all to much "microsoft windows 3.1" to not have TCP/IP as default (of course shouldn't autostart).

A TCP/IP stack should of course be standard.. but of course, if you
don't like it or don't want TCP/IP, you shouldn't have to install it.

Anyway I don't think it will be in 1.4, unfortunately. Too bad.. but
there are certainly a lot of other things people want. I'm sure TCP/IP
    is a priority now though.

I also think that TCP/IP is a must for every OS today. And an Installer too, I'm a little afraid of installing 1.4 the way I installed 1.3 (just plain copy all) and overwriting settings or stuff that I'm using now or loosing applications on my boot partition and so on. There should be a way to update to 1.4 and not installing it from scratch.

afaik, it should be possible to update existing installation to
    1.4...

At least, there was installer shown in some pics from AmiWest...

If you didn't mess with your Sys:MorphOS/ Directory then updating the OS is the easiest thing. You simply have to rename the MorphOS directory to something else (MorphOS_ i.e.) and copy the one from 1.4 to your Sys: Partition et voila: done.

Many people are confused at first with the system of having a sys: and a Mossys:, but after 2 or 3 os Updates you won't want to miss it anymore.

    From Morphos-news

MorphOS 1.4 will be on the new MorphOS.net site on Friday, 1 August. The SuperBundle will be downloadable Wednesday, 30 July from PegasosPPC.

    To achieve the downloads:

register via pegasosppc.com and apply for a superbundle serial
your data is checked and then your application approved/ declined and you receive/don't receive a serial number
with that serial number and a standard password, you can login to an individual account on Zargos and download the bundle from there.
the serial number is also used for reduced price upgrades (if any offered) and to unlock software in the bundle
if you only have a slow connection to the Internet, you will be able to purchase it on a nicely-packaged CD-set for a production and handling fee

    Best regards,

Hey... I don't suppose anyone heard if MOS1.4 cures that distorted audio problem? Or are we still all hanging on for PegII and marvel? :)
