    @tetuzo:

    Well, I could imagine that this is kind of sell-out of the old Peg2 because the new Pegasos 2,5 with 1,6 GHZ PPC7448 or something will be produced instead in the new future.

    That's my take too -- because this is some "brutally" good pricing!

    These prices are totally incredible! :-o

    If I hadn't already had 3 Pegs, I would definitely have bought another one!

    Hmm, maybe i will anyway, since they are so darn cheap now ... :-P :-D

    Well I meant the argument they give that the A1 isnt more money then a Pegasos after they are built, but we all know that is just untrue. Now even more so!

    @Acill

    I see. Well my AmigaOne XE did not cost much to assemble really, but I guess I did well on getting parts at good prices and in some cases not at all.

    The Pegs are dirt cheap I have to say, not a bad price at all.

    Nice website too.

    The prices are just low.

    There is no new product to replace these yet.

    The simple reason; our economies have changed. We no longer need to be backing up the next production run with higher prices on boards. What you are looking at is us selling them at the price you ALWAYS WANTED and that we can now afford.

    There'll be a faster processor card in the future but the price cut has absolutely nothing to do with that.

    The upgrade offer is really simple too; we promised and now you have it. When that faster processor card arrives in x months time, all the Pegasos II owners can happily upgrade, whereas they cannot with their Pegasos I.

    Say hi to a new Pegasos II owner. ;-)
    Great service. I've placed an order for a G3 CPU + motherboard deal @ $299 and within a few hrs I received an e-mail confirming that it's been shipped out. All I need to do now is wait.

    BTW, I am looking to get 512MB of ram (either 2 x 256 or 1 x 512). Is there a recommended brand, or can I simply choose anything out there that's according to the spec (PC2100 266Mhz)?

    Wow, welcome to the family mate! You can just about get any PC2100+ module to work. I hear some have issues, but I have yet to find one. I have Corsair in mine.

    Will a trade in offer for the current G4 CPU card to a new faster version come? I'd upgrade if that was in the works!

    @Acill:

    Thanks for the tip and for the warm welcome. :-)

    I was thinking of getting 1 x 512MB Kingston brand PC2100 266Mhz. It seems cheaper than getting 2 x 256MB. Anyway, it's good to know that there are no issues about memory, as long as it's the right type that is. :-)

    @ x56h34

    Congratulations! :-)

    I think you are doing the right thing when you buy one big module instead of two smaller. I think that is safer, at least when expanding to 1GB+ (no experience of this myself though, 512MB is more than enough for me! ;-)). Other than that - go for quality, not lowest possible price! :-)

    I love your avatar! Also welcome to the community. I would recommend using Samsung RAM - best experience i've had (most stable with MOS and Linux is pc2700)

    Dont go with 2x256 though it should work go with the 512 stick -

    You can get PC3200 if you want. As long as it is nice, branded RAM it should run at a lower latency.

    I would have recommended Crucial, it's got a better warranty than Samsung and we are listed in their memory selector :)
