Here is a GREAT article and gives a solid indication of where Genesi is headed:

    Sony's Idei -- Part 3

The first two sections are interesting reading!

This is the future domain of MorphOS.

    Sincerely,

    R&B :-)

Interesant, but i dont like playstation and ps2 consoles, they are crap (dreamcast is better than ps2, better resolution, more memory and more...), and now sony products has less quality and crash before... (playstation & ps2 has very bad quality)

I dont like stupid marketing, i analyze that i buy, so im not affected by the biggest marketing campaigns of sony :D

But is interesant that Genesi makes more important ;)

PS: When we will have MorphOS 1.5? i like can have AmiTCP and others :D

From the things you said earlier i "knew" that you were into Settop Boxes. My question is are you in desktops either? I know you have the Pegasos II now. But from an earlier statement i got something about it beeing (only) an development system for your Settop Box.

"The desktop is controlled by Microsoft" and "Apple is a nightmare to work with" (Got this from the article). Will MorphOS interconnect the Home Theatre Network World (TV/Settop Box) with the Personal Computer World (Pegasos) on it's own Hardware Platform?

    Or even:

"For this to work, we need to accommodate an operating system on top of this middleware."

    Oh ::cough:: MorphOS ::cough::

    Thanks

I think that the settop market would be great as long as it works in a
circle. Settop box/game console goes to market and is successful
(should be). Then software that is developed for the settop should be
compatible with the desktop (Pegs 1 & 2 & ...). It would accelerate
    both markets.

Yes, i think that they can share the software of both markets, then if one of the markets gets more money, then these apps highly required on these sector could be used on the other... by example:

    - Web browser (including the all standards, and things as flash, java...)

    - Powerful "multimedia player" that can plays video/audio streams from internet, mp3, ogg vorbis, divx, xvid, DVD...

    - Games

    - Apps used for professionals (and not so professionals ;-)) such as 3D, CAD, music editing, non-lineal video editing...

    And others...

I think that STB could be good for these people that use windows because "they arent geeks", they are only people that use the computers "for their things" and dont like know things about computers, only use it. Since gaming, web browsing, hear music, see films, see digital tv, wroking with professional apps (3D, CAD, music, non-lineal video editing...), to...

The problem that windows is a too problematic Operating System, and then these people needs search "friends" for fix the computer for free, or go to their computer shop for that they fix it for MONEY... Then, STB will solucionate their lifes ;-)

Could be very nice if Genesi's STB will can be used it as a computer, but all small assembled, easy to use, fast, and no crashes!

They stated and I quote IA64 Linux for one of many reasons. 8-)
