I never did find it either - I've been using a time-limited Miami demo.

The native AmiTCP port will be part MOS 1.5 im afraid so you will have to do some more waiting.

You don't need to install the bundle, you can also just copy your files from CD to the harddisk. Furthermore I wonder what kind of USB device you have that it can't be accessed from Poseidon. Have you tried the other USB-connector as well?

Could you give us some more information, please, so that we can try to help you?

There is a vewy ol free AmiTCP on Aminet.
Perhaps you can do something with that one.
I didn't test it on Pegasos.
Otherwise use a Demoversion of AmiTCP, Miami orMiamiDX for
    now.

Only MorphOS 1.4 from beg of August is provided (with just an update radeon driver and boot.img). MOS 1.5 will include tons of new things incluing amiTCP 5. Soon ?

When I plug in my USB memory, in the sys prefs, i get this error message in the USB section:

    Error massstorage.class Couldn't find/load filesystem for usbscsi.device unit 0 as UMSD:

The memory may use FAT32? that's the problem?

    BTW, I didn't start the network yet. I downloaded AmiTCP 4.0 demo from aminet, but no pegasos ethernet driver there.... ^^;

    @Hawk

Dunno bout the AmiTCP-demo, but for all I know the Miami-demo should
be easier to set up (and the 30 min time-out shouldn't be a big prob).

Both should work with the "via_rhinepci.device" provided on the MOS1.4-CD.

That can be found in sys:morphos/devs/networks, but I when I 1st used it
with MOS1.2 or 1.3 I had the problem that Miami didn't like it. If this
is still true, you would need to cut off the .elf-extension from the device
    and copy it to sys:devs/networks.

This is what I use and even if downloading something when cut off, the resume feature comes to the rescue.

It also lets me know if I've been online too long and neglecting the g/f! :-D

    Hi,

It's also possible to use Genesis from the OS3.9 cd. That's what I'm using now. No more 30 minute time-outs! :-)

Pah - OS3.5 was the last one I got, although I will be getting OS4.0 (if they ever release it ;-) )

The install script from fat95 didn't seem to work... but anyway, I copied the contents of c, l and devs to SYS:C SYS:L SYS:Devs respectively.

Now it doesn't complain about the filesystem, but I get nak messages (in the USB message window). I'll try installing the new version of Poseidon ? ... whenever I manage to configure the network... The demo of Miami Deluxe doesn't allow me to set up a gateway!!!

BTW, to install MiamiDx, I had to assign MUI: SYS:MorphOS

To have fat95 installed is enough to copy only the file l:fat95 to L: The other files are not needed.

Here goes my desperate plea for help...

I have tried and failed to set up both the MiamiDX and Genesis demos from Aminet to go through my Zoom Broadband modem to the internet (which also acts as a DHCP server, gateway and router - there is also a small hub attached to this to allow all my computers to access the internet).

If anyone else has succeeded in something similar, I would greatly appreciate any tips...

    FYI:

MiamiDX seems to get an IP address allocated and then just sits there constantly communicating with the modem (stopping other machines from accessing the internet too :-( ). Voyager can't even reach the modem's set up page , though it seems to try (every other OS I use with TCP/IP can - and I use quite a few...)

Genesis seems not to detect anything and I am forced to enter details manually (which I don't seem to get right - but it may simply not be working).

I am using the internal 100Mbit port and the via_rhine driver with MOS1.4.

    Thanks for reading that lot!!

    I have some questions :
    1. Is your PEG in a local network ?
    2. Do you have a fixed IP or is it DCHP ?
    3. Did you read the manual of MiamiDx ?
My Peg was standalone and I managed to configure the Peg in a local network as well

    Hi Lowietje1, some answers:

    1) I don't share the files, only the internet connection. Nevertheless, my Peg is linked via a hub to the modem, along with several other PCs. Whether that genuinely constitutes a local network, though... (it may become one some day, when I get around to it :-) )

    2) I use the DHCP serving ability of the modem (nice and simple) - all dynamic for all machines.

    3) Um... I did sort of scan through it... This is actually quite bad of me, so I will glance through it again. Sorry.

Oh, and I should add that this a PegII...

I am now sending this post from my PegII via MiamiDX...

BUT my previously mentioned problem has not gone away. I cheated a bit
and finally got the thing to work.

Clearly, the DHCP IP address resolution was failing. After connecting,
everything was fine - for about ten seconds, after which the Peg and
my modem start to constantly communicate (hub lights flashing all the
    time).

After about 20 seconds, this traffic becomes so great that no further
browsing from ANY machine on the "network" is possible, and I have to
    disconnect MiamiDX.

I got around this by connecting, going to the DNS section of the
MiamiDX database section and unchecking the temporary flag on the
dynamically located DNS (Miami will NOT let me add DNS IP addresses
manually for some reason - any address I type is added blank to the
list... Maybe a limit of the Demo?)

After doing this, I disconnected, changed MiamiDx's settings to that
my IP type, Gateway and Mask were all static (they too had been
discovered and were now okay to leave).

Using this unbelievable workaround, I got the network functioning -
    woo hoo!

Perhaps there is a bug in MiamiDx that only appears with modems like
mine? (With DHCP, routing, etc). My modem is a Zoomx4 ADSL, which
works with every other OS I have tried (this includes BeOS, Windows,
    Linux...)

I thought I should let people know of this so that if anyone has
similar issues they can also get around them as I have.

Not nice, but it works :-)

I to had problems getting AmiTCP to work as well. Played around with
Genesis from 3.9 CD, but any time I clicked on genesis wizard I got a
    error message "can't open resourse.library version 1".
    Even with resourse.library in libs:.

So I got AmiTCP-demo-4.0 from Aminet and after many hours ajusting
the startnet script I am ONLINE!!! with my Peg2.

No, this is a small bug in Miami, for some reason it will not detect entries into fields until you press enter. if you tab or click-out of the field Miami will not update the listview.

That got me a few times when I was setting Miami up for Samba.
