I'm surprised no one talks about PA Semi processors much.

I mean, isn't this the modern processor geared towards the laptops?

You mean consumer laptops? What OS would run on it and why would anybody prefer a PA Semi to a Core 2 Duo Mobile?

Nothing but Linux I guess (and OS4 if a licence could be granted (:)), and MorphOS if the hardware was "good enough" to host this system)

Who would prefer it over a core2duo ? If you exclude the die-hard Amiga fans who still believe x86 is slow and consumes a lot of power, no one at all ?

So are you guys leading the parade to port MorphOS to Core duo? ;-)

No, that would make some sense at least, enough reason that it won't happen. It's much better to have it dongled to some obscure Genesi-hardware that isn't meant for "end-users" and that doesn't even support CD-ROM drives. :-P

Hmm? I've used cd-roms and dvds with my pegasos for years now, and I'm quite certain that it was no problem using them with morphos for powerup hw. But go on, tell us more about this dongle.

I think "some obscure" (besides the CD-ROM remark) points quite effectively and obviously to the thing called EFIKA (in case you haven't heard of it yet, check out this URL)

Morphos 1.5 (beta) was first demoed 2.5 years ago. Therefore it _could_ make sense to call it "2.0" instead.
Not that it really matters though...
The only thing that matters is that they release it before Efika goes EOL. ;-)

Some announcements or roadmaps could surely keep us going for a while longer.
