Fonts for MorphOS

    Hello everyone!

    As some of you already know: I am working on creating a free font package for MorphOS users. One that covers a wide range of typographic styles, offers OpenType TTF outlines for backward compatibility, and opens MorphOS up for more design and a nicer appearance plus more type diversity.

    I am almost ready - who amongst the MorphOS team would I best discuss this with?

    Pike (working for Monotype, in case you wondered)

    @ pikewerfer - great news, hope it all works out for all your hard work trying to arrange this through Monotype (your salary payer) and for MorphOS too ! I really appreciate the effort you have gone to and the encouragement that you must have invoked with Monotype to hopefully make it happen for this purpose. Kudos to you! 8-D

    this has now gone live (sorry for the long delay, took longer than expected). Just go here:

    and "buy" the Font Value Pack for ZERO dollars, then download. Install, and enjoy. I took great care to create a package that covers a wide variety of typefaces, so this should make MorphOS somewhat more versatile when it comes to fonts.

    Hope you all like it, do let me know if you have feedback.

    Oh, one more addition. The license agreement also includes AmigaOS. So you can use these fonts - for free - not only on MorphOS but also on AmigaOS. I am, however, not sure if OpenTypes will work on AmigaOS. On MorphOS, they should - I tested a few, and they did pop up in my test applications.

    Would be interested to hear whether or not they work for you - and what we could do to make MorphOS more font-savvy. I will try to help where I can.

    Glad you are enjoying it. Do let me know how you use it. Send me screenshots! I would love to see how this works with MorphOS. Also, tell me where it does not. Since I am a Font guy, maybe I can help the app dev teams.

    I would also be interested to hear if the selection is covering most needs, or if I forgot some important style.
