The "automatic"(?) morphos-news.de headlines on the front page of morph.zone doesn't work as it should?

So, when the update is actually released, will it be available via download and is there a fee involved?

i'll think the mos1.5 iso will be available for download from beta2 ftp server like always.

First commerical update could be 2.x, similiar like the AmigaOS updates in the past.

Mos is not an OS that can substitute COMPLETELY Linux or Windoww. It have still a big amount of little bugs that must first fixed before claim payment for it.
Anyway it's difficult to see what will happen.
SUre, in my opinion, the Apple MacOs X method of update payment is not so good: a lot of ppl payed for the version 10.2 that was a BIG fix and tuneup (then Apple understand it and released 10.3 free ... a nice step for its community).
I hope honestly to not pay software upgrade that are only fixes of bugs.

AFAIR even Windows XP comes without Java. This "etc etc etc" could go on forever, and you may want everything for free, but unlike you I'm ready to honor the efforts of our developers, and even pay for updates.

There is the opportunity for you to write them then. For free, of course, as I have no intention to pay you anything unless you provide everything I desire. When will the new features be ready? :-)

hmmm, are you coming from another world?

MacOS X 10.3 was not free at all, you have to pay the full price for it (no upgrade from 10.2 is possible) and so will be 10.4.

I'd like to ask all you guys who dont want to pay for MorphOS - How do you think these developers that work on it get paid? Right, they DONT. So... they deserve to be able to sell it. It has been very nice that its bundled with the Pegasos but I can see why for furthur versions they may charge..

    1) What is the problem with credit cards?

    2) You can not ask the source of every bounty. Or you limite yourself to new applications.
I doubt you can get the source of ATC, Frogger, AmIRC, etc... just because somebody paid xx euros for a port, a bugfix or a new feature.
That doesn't work. Better think about another solution.

    @Henes

Although you didn't aim your posting to this thread, the problem with CCs is that at least here not many people do own one. So once updates for MorphOS have to be paid for, please consider also the option to buy it per bank transfer or at least from a dealer.

    The "system" credit-card is insecure.
Here in germany for example it's still uncommon
to have one. I dont have one and even if I had one
I surely would not want to use it online.
(I'll never understand why such data needs to be
printed on a card when there is something like eg RFID.
Ask me in 50 years again ;-) )
