I got UAE working at last. Its a newer build of it with sound and AGA enabled. The only problem I seem to have with it is it seems to "skip" when I load up a game. The speed is fine, but it pauses sort of for a fraction of a second every couple seconds. I have a G4 in my Pegasos so I dont think its a CPU load issue. Does anyone know how to solve this? Several people have told me they use UAE and it runs great on the Pegasos as an A500 setup. Thats all I want it for. Just for the old games I converted before I sent off my A3000.

    Acill,

I have the same problem. You probably won't like my solution though.
    I turn the sound off.

I think I have even turned the sound off and it does it. I will try again just to make sure. I wonder if I install a Soundblaster live! card if it will work better? I hear the onboard sound takes CPU cycles.

No, you haven' turned sound off.
When you turn sound off, UAE flies even on the G3-600.
Let's hope the programmer finds some time to fix this issue.

WOW! I just turned sound OFF and its way to fast now! I guess its a bug in the sound part of the code. With it off its totaly unusable due to excess speed! Can I slow it down any?

UAE works very well for me, I just use a basic Amiga 500 configuration with sound and most of the time it has 49.8 fps (even if I chose best sound).

Of course there are games wich don't play very well with or without sound.

    Check this screenshot.

Do you think one of you guys here can write a quick and dirty Quickstart Guide to UAE on MOS? I havent the time to play with it and not sure how it works in regards to games - how are they loaded, etc..

BTW, has anyone tried UAE 0.8.25 in MorphOS, and if so, does the bsdsockets.library work?

I built 0.8.25, which introduced a few bugs in the amiga port, resulting in no more full screen, no more on-the-fly disk insertion, no more virtual-fs hd mount... I have resolved these issues.
I would have liked to try bsdsocket, but the problem is that p96 support in amigaos port is not implemented yet, and running amigaos in chipset mode is not very nice, especially on uae. :)
    Anyway, i'll try.

If it works that means only descent sound support and p96 are lacking.

Fab: Just out of couriosity, did you also solve the syncronous Sound Design Problem, which lead afaik to the soundgaps with the further UAE releases? And if so, could you pleeeeeeeease release this Version? :-D *drooooool*
I don`t need P96 Support in UAE, but i really want to play my all time favorites again on my peg :-)
Unfortunatelly with the current Sound Issue, it is not much fun :-(

That's yet to be done. I don't really maintain UAE Morphos, but when i have a bit more time, i'd like to improve the sound part, indeed.

You are my Hero :-D Great to hear that. Because even the G3 Peg should be way enough for playing some Amiga, even AGA Games, but this sound issue is totaly anoying.

The sound is nice on mine, but it makes the game "skip" and feel choppy when its on. If I shut of the sound its way to fast to play anything. So there is a bug in the timming someplace I think.

Hmmmm, if Fab completes his UAE update, we should plead to Tokai to write a GUI! On the other hand, such a combination would totally ruin my social life ;-)

How about some help guys! If it money they need lets get someone to start a paypal fund for tokai and fab. I bet a lot of people would add to it. I can see myself putting in maybe $20 to $40 even. Well worth it for the coding time if even half of us users put something in to the pot for em.

For a easy to install, fully working version of UAE (with sound and partition support) together with a Tokai (R)&(C) GUI I would add to the pot, yessir :-)
