Hmmm,
An old question/problem, but since I have the wonderfull statline installed I found out the following:
The earlier mentioned audio/synchronisation problems with DivX movies arise only when playing high resolution ones. As soon mplayer uses up to 100% cpu time, the problem starts. This should not occur when using the FRAMEDROP parameter, since the movie would skip a few frames when the cpu-load gets to high. But there seems to be no difference in playback with or without FRAMEDROP enabled. As mentioned earlier, Frogger doesn't seem to have a problem with the same files but it uses less cpu time (probably because of the VLAYERPLANAR playback mode) and does noticeably skip frames from time to time.
So I was wondering if FRAMEDROP does actually work?
