for what it's worth, I just uploaded two icons:
DOpus png icon
and
SongPlayer png icon

Because I wanted the DOpus for myself and Targhan had mentioned once about having SongPlayer (at least I thought that was the one)

anyway, I just made them "similar" to the old icons so that they would have a slightly familiar look. they just are 24 bit with transparency.

aminetradio has already a nice png icon.. just check the icon folder of the install archive.. there u find 3 hidden PNG files. Just rename them to .info and you'll get nice PNG-Icons :)

What software do you use to create icons with, and how do you do it?

@targhan: you can use almost any gfx software which is available. yes, the png alphachannel is sometimes a bit tricky.. it depends on the program you use. I personaly use imagefx and tvpaint, sometimes photogenics too for creating the icons.

But i still would like to see more ppl contributing to the icon project. I'm lazy and don't have much time... but could need a hell lot more icons!

Or else I take 1 $/EUR for every icon which is requested! I think i actually could make some money with that.

It made me happy that my icons packs in the download
section have been for a long time in the top downloads :)
Now the allmighty Mawi wiped out the "highscore" and not even mplayer is included anymore ....
I think, I' ll soon have enough time, to make many new ones. (Hopefully I' get my peg2 this year, so I can complete
my pegasos-clip started on a PeCe with PinnacleEdition at
home with MotionStudio or th. else...).
A longer time ago s.o. (sorry, it's been a while, but I think it was roschmyr or senex?) gave me photogenics4, as he didn't need it anymore....
As I prefer Gimp2.1 I could give it to the one who creates the "best" icon....
So if there'll be a place with maaany png-icons, we could make a little conest and the winner(s)will be rewared
with software sponsored by the community...
