Nice first release. I did a fast try out and looked really stable. I tried the following filetypes, avi wmv flv mpg. The avi file had a pink layer over the screen, but it could be false of the file. When I will make more tests I will inform you.

    Great work. Keep it up.

Cool. First tests worked here, but it seems slower than mplayer.

    btw its 0.8.6

What are the advantages over mplayer?

Good work, but there'll be a problem. ixemul progs can't call morphos libraries directly. I've had a big conversation on this topic with henes(if i remember everything ok). We should ask itix for releasing his threads implementation used in SDL as an external lib. 8)

Well that its not only a player, its a streaming solution for settop boxes, etc.

Why not upload it to aminet so everyone notices this port exists?

Very cool news indeed. A full version with gui would add to Morphos nicely. Even though Mplayer with Altivec support roxx

Following your logic... why release it on a private webpage then?

Oh right, I guess that's why we're all running MorphOS 2.0 now. Maybe ambient nightly builds should be uploaded as well? :)

if it uses the "vit" files you could always place your skin of choice in the skins dir and see if it works.

VLC works great on Windows (how often can one say that?) and even comes in a portable version. ie works from a flash drive.

Could you point me to the MOS2.x download URL? :-P

Not all Ambient builds are public. But yes, you could upload it to aminet if you wanted better bandwitch and that people reported and found bugs

in this case it's pretty clear that NatMeg's site doesn't have enough bandwitch and IMHO checking all MOS sites updates is painful and not everyone has time to check updates...
