Someone tried Eagle/Hippoplayer or other MOD-Players?

As I'm not very satisfied with module output on the Pegasos via
Deliplayer or UADE, I wonder if someone got Eagleplayer or Hippoplayer
working and if the results were better (no slow downs/volume
problems on formats like FC13 or TFMX)?

Eagleplayer and hippoplayer both won't work because they (trie to) acces the amiga custom hardware.

Delitracker is quite good though, just remember to use the AHI-noteplayer (find it on aminet) instead of the Deli14bit Genie, becuase the latter one had got some timing problems related to the ahi replay on the pegasos.

thanks, I tried with AHI noteplayer and now it's much better.
but why do I always get the error "Audiochannels already in use" when
playing a TFMX song? Other format work fine!

I will also try Proplayer, altough I need to play much more formats
    than it
    supports.

TFMX player probably uses PAULA directly... this also goes for some of the custom players. Only solution is to use UADE for this (you also could try to convert it to mp3 by using UADE and SOX, this could avoid AHI timing problems). I actually don't hear any timing problems... are u sure you have installed latest AHI?

I use AHI that came with MorphOS 1.4.2, should I update?

When playing TFMX with UADE the output is really bad, when some
samples play, the whole output volume goes down and things like that.
I don't see where SOX could fix that.
I tried recording to WAV, this didn't work either, so it probably
isn't AHI what causes the problems.

You should update your ahi-files, since the ones supplied with MOS 1.4.2 contain a couple of bugs. Furthermore you could check if you are using the latest version of UADE -> I had some problems with the replay of UADE too with the previous version.

    @tokai

TFMX reply (in delitracker) can be done through a noteplayer, so 14bitgenie and the ahi-noteplayer both play tfmx songs.

About the slowdown problems; they are not easily heard, but you'll notice them immidiatly when using headphones. Slowndown isn't exactly the right word though; it's more that the timing of the song goes out sync every couple of seconds and then catches up again. Very annoying. The ahi-noteplayer doesn't suffer from this problem -> i'm told is had got something to do with the DeliMixer stuff running asynchronously so there's a small pause when the AHI buffer starts.

    @Stevo:
    Thanks for your infos.
Do you know a possible reason why I can't play TFMX via the AHI
Noteplayer (error msg is in the reply above)? I believe it already
    worked using the 14Bit Noteplayer.

I don't know; I never experienced that problem. I just checked if running an audio task in the background would cause problems, but it didn't.

What version of AHI-Noteplayer are you using? I'm using 1.08. Secondly, make sure you disable all other genies (or even better: don't load them at startup -> move them to the geniestore dir) because delitracker gives priority to the 14bitgenie. Are you using the full delitracker package from aminet? If not, the fault may lie in outdated tfmx replayers. The aminet distribution contains version 2.29 of the TFMX replayer, wich recognises every tfmx I trow at it -> also make sure you move all other tfmx replayers to the playerstore dir).

    Hope this helps!

    @Stevo:

    Hippel7V works fine, really strange!

These are the versions I'm using:

    - Delitracker 2.27
    - AHI Noteplayer 1.08
    - TFMX 7V 1.90
    - TFMX Pro 1.98 (altough this shouldn't matter, it's the 7V one I use)
    - Hippel 7V 1.00 (tested with the great Amberstar intro song)

    I use those genies:

    - AHI Noteplayer 1.08
    - Decruncher 1.30
    - Deli-Wizard 2.20 (whatever this is *g*)
    - ModuleInfo 1.70

I will try the TFMX replayer from Aminet, thanks for the hint!

Ah, there you have it :-) Download the finale (now freeware) Delitracker distribution (version 2.32) from here and you'll be ok :-)

    ps.
The deli-wizard is a genie for converting pt-like songs (mostly packed songs like prorunner, the player, etc.) ;-)

hmmm.... i have problems with delitracker under aos4, i am using the latest version and the same ahi noteplayer, but all tunes are playing WAY too fast, can this be solved? Do you recognized the problem, or is it os4 specific?

Certainly, it's due to a "bug" they copied from old MorphOS versions... ;)

..or more accurately, the player has a bug/limit when dealing with eclock timing, it simply doesn't handle unexpected/large eclock values, this is quite common behaviour among 68k apps as 64bit math is awkward/expensive...

Do you know how to configure the new EaglePlayer version to make it work on MorphOS?

I just tried on my Pegasos2 and it lead to a sort of dead lock (100% CPU and nothing happens, no logs).

Deli and Eagle always looked like butt, especially as soon as people switched to 4:3 resolutions and thickened window borders to make up for it.

Hippo also looked like butt, but man, was it ever the best UI for mod players ever made. Got 5000 mods? No problem, didn't even slow down. I really missed HiP when I moved to MorphOS. Deli and Eagle, meh, not so much.

But as far as I remember, even the mere act of playing a ProTracker/whatevertracker module required banging the custom hardware, and it was only much later that code was developed to do it system-friendly. Could be wrong.

I'm having no success, so far, with EaglePlayer v2.05, as I just get a requester Tooltype error "Voice", and other errors, and then the 100% CPU error kicks in, and a reboot is essential.

If anyone has a method to install/use/edit it then please say so. I used to really like EaglePlayer on Classic Amiga systems.

Having said that JukeBox for me is all I use on MorphOS for mp3 files, virtually all my music, as it's just soooooo good. 8-D

I use the default configuration, except that I activated the AHI Amplifier as the only Amplifier engine. In the AHI Amplifier settings, I selected a HiFi 16 bit stero++ mode and 44.1 kHz mixing frequency. That's it. If it still doesn't work for you, it may be worth tinkering with the Configuration -> Timing settings.

Have you activated the AHI Amplifier?

I guess not since he cannot start the program. It'll crash in the background and eat 100% cpu. I know, because I tried it as well. Also tried removing the tooltypes, the default config and and all but the AHI replayer ;-)

I can't believe I'm the only one who is able to run Eagleplayer v2.05 on MorphOS.
