    Hello all

I'm resentle bought a new pegasos with a 1G Kingston SDRAM PC133. 250G HD, a ATI raedon 9200 (witch i use the 9000 drives), and a DVD player and a DVD + and - writer.

When i turn the machine on it came with a nice screen without problems.
--btw: I used the Pegasos - QUICKSTART Guide
    at: http://www.morphos-news.de/beta2help/qstart_en.html

    ok ls /pci/ide/cd (this works)
ok boot /pci/ide/cd boot.img (this is not working)

I get the screen i espected but he don't want to start the Ambient screen, the GUI of MorphOS.

This is what I have done...
    - change a diffrent CDROM and disconn. the CDRW
    - tried other memory kingston 250MB SDRAM PC133
    - tried diffrent Harddisk (not if that matther but it is possible)
    - And i played with diffrend master-slave-primair-secundar ports.

Is there anyone who can tell me what i do wrong??

I had the same problem when I tried to get my Pegasos working. In my case it was the cdrom-drive, as the 4th drive I tried loaded the boot.img correctly.

Maybe the Radeon9200 isn't recognized correctly
    because it uses another ID.

Best would be if you came to #morphos on ArcNet.
See this page for more info or use the built in webchat at MorphZone.

    > ATI raedon 9200

Are you sure that the Radeon 9200's RV280 is supported by MorphOS? According to http://www.vgr.com/cybergfx/supportedboards.html and http://www.pegasosppc.com/files/MorphOS_FeatureList_20030516.pdf only the RV100, R100, RV200, R200 and RV250 are supported.

I tried first the ATI 7000 from a neightbour who has one, and i ordered a 9200 with 9000 drivers. that could work in theorie because it is downwards compatible.

btw: i am a dummy with internet, and espesially with an IRC client witch i am currently try to use but no luck...

SSSMoves: When you're trying to boot, does the screen with the
butterfly show up? Or do you still have the commandline prompt
visible? Or does everything go black?

Try to use the "IRC Webchat" on the right hand side of MorphZone to access IRC. Just click the login button, and you should be on IRC in the correct channel for help.

I tried 7 CD-ROM's before I found one that worked. Also I found that position of the CD-ROM in the drive train is important too. Some drives only worked as IDE0 master, others only as a slave, yet others only worked on IDE1....

How is it going? Any luck so far? If not keep trying and keep feeding the info so that we can help you. Nothing worse then a Peg user who cannot get it working.

The good command line is boot /pci/cd boot.img

there is no /ide in command line

    or boot boot /pci/ide/cd@x,y:0 boot.img

x=0 or 1 (ide primary or secondary)
y=0 or 1 (master or slave)

Try again and keep us informed

    @SSSMoves

Keep us posted. And when it runs again into a freeze/crash give a detailed hardware description here so that we can help you out. Maybe you did, but keep to the listed (working) hardware.
