VBA is slooow so I see no point in doing a port (I did my own years ago but didn't released it, because it just wasn't usable).

Yes, but this OS4 port seems a lot faster by some reason, my idea is... It's possible port the OS4 port to MOS and benefit of the optimizations? ;-)

I think Nicolas Mendoza can be ok with this and help some, he isn't a mos-hater...

how do "you" measure it ?

at first look there is no amiga specific code at all into the src of
    the os4 port

its not a port, just a compile. fixing a few compile problems is not what i call porting. I looked to the os4 version source too, it's just fixing some OS4 include mess/incompatibility obviously. So, just a recompile too.

Persoanly I think VBA is just hell slow, when playing GBA stuff... maybe its just me. Others meant it works well.

It works nice for gameboy colour roms at least.

anyway, if you search the morphzone forum you will notice there exists for a long time VBA ports on MorphOS. Fab did one, I did one, stefkos did one too i think, etc. But noone of us cared for a release when the port was done as VBA just didn't had 'the thing' to get actually released and make user really happy (aka: why release slow crap?).

I just released my compile now to shut up all the lamers who scream "whaa.. OS4 has a port. It must great. Why noone cares to port it to MorphOS... whaaawhaaa whaa" and have no guts to start "configure && make" self.

    regards,
    tokai

Boycott is much faster. I think if you email the author he will send the source for porting to other machines.
