Well sorry to say, but this port shows pretty clear, why sdl on Amiga/MorphOS still sucks...

It is sloooooooow, It trashes Windows and so on.

Anyway it is fine that you got your gcc problems solved for this.

    tomjoad:
Perhaps I should start to beg or so, maybe it helps if I say you are the coolest coder out there or so ;D
Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease, give us Scumm VM 0.6.0 ;D

Uwe Ryssel has completed ports for both 68K and WOS of the ScummVM 0.6.0 sources. The new archives can be found on Uwe's website, or you can click here for the 68K version (1.1 MB), or here for the WOS version (1.3 MB).

I tried the WOS port, but it crashes when it loads a(ny) game...didn't try really hard though :-D

Tried both the new 68k and WOS myself. They both crash for me too. Its
to bad. I thought I would have the new release at last.

Any news about this? Seems that tomjoad abandonate forever the port of ScummVm... Thats sad, I like a lot ScummVM and I appreciate his efforts offering this nice interpreter to our platform...

ScummvmVM 0.6.1 released and no news about tomjoad, 0.6.1b soon due to a minot bug...

I think that ScummVM must be ported native because SDL is too slow for it, and the native port is a lot faster...

No, not really. But times are changing and I'm working as a sw developer now and when you're programming for about 8 1/2 hours a day you don't really find it some welcome change to continue programming :-(.

Besides, I am not quite happy with my work ... seems like I'm almost the only one who knows what he's doing. It's embarassing to see how much of a clue people have about the stuff they earn their money with :-(.

So when I've got the time these days, I'd rather work on some original software, where I can design and implement something on my own. Or do something else I may earn some money with some day. I'll see. Or to go back to university and do my doctorate. Just something to break out of this Windows bullshit.

The speed of MOS SDL can be improved. Native would still be faster, though. Well I've downloaded the Mac version of 0.6.1 recently and gave it a short try but it funnily wasn't quite the same "feeling" as on MorphOS so I guess the show must go on somehow ... :-D

I'm using Warpscumm atm, is there a better version ?
Once started you cannot exit it, because it crashes at exit, but except of this problem, it is working at least.

Here is a powersdl build of scummvm 0.6.1 for those who can't wait for a native backend. I couldn't test it on pegasos1, but on my pegasos2, it runs quite well and seems quite stable too (tell me if it isn't).

I could test Broken word 1&2. They work quite well too, and mpeg2+ogg cutscenes are also supported by this port.

I discourage the use of gfx scalers with those 640x480 games on peg1 though, as this would produce a 1280x960 window with a heavy scaler behind. :)

What about etude.library? Can you explain more if you will continue your projects? Could be nice if other(s) continue your projects while you are occupied ;-)
