x1000 is nice system on paper, until you try it. CFE is slow, buggy and awful.
I lobbied also for x1000 MOS but it aint happening ...

I might be wrong but I m under impression X5000 port would not happen,
if Trevor did not sponsor it.
I dont know how SAM460ex support came to be, but SAM440,x1000 and A1222 seems to be out
of picture.

However, fact remains MOS could use some new hw after Efika and Peg,
and x5000, no matter how expensive, is only such thing.

Even I am out OS4 world, my advice is to, if not too much hustle, support
SAM 440, A1222 and even x1000 so OS4 users have what to migrate to :D

As far as I know, there was no "sponsoring" beside providing P5020DS development systems for initial porting and later CyrusPlus boards.

Hassle with A1222 support would be tremendous for known reasons. Just look at the performance and compatibility issues in OS4 world. It's a wise decision to stay away from it. X1000 support would have been nice, yes. Sam440 I'm rather indifferent to as performance is really low. Efika performance is even lower, but that port was paid for, which made all the difference.
