Great to hear this!!!! It lends a lot more credibility to morphos to have a working, native disk repair tool.

Every day I'm gladder that I've chosen MorphOS instead of the alternatives, and it's thanks to this kind of thing!

What kind of probelms will it fix? i have 40 gig big partition with SFS, and i found, that there are some problems with it's bitmap. i moved data (38 gigs) to another hdd, formated, and the problem remains. it doesn't seam, it's a big problem, only sometimes a requester appears, and only few files were damaged, but it's still damaged also after slow formatting! what to do with it?

    thanx, MarK.

Please send me an output of latest SFSCheck tool (available on Aminet) ran on this problematic partition. I wan't to know exactly what kind of structure error it is. Then I will send you beta version of SFSDoctor to test.
Was error the same after partition reformat? Are you sure that your drive does not suffer from badblocks problem?

this problem appeared before format, and after the format it's still there. i also tried to defragment it, but it stopped because of the damaged disk...

this seems a HD failure IMHO! (a HW bad block or so)

I have one me too . . . tryed to divide the fault partition in smaller one (even leaving blank spaces on the disk)

No idea how/if it is fixable.

Erm...I'm sure you guys know that you shouldn't use SFSCheck from a different version of SFS, don't you? It will always report errors even if there are none. Use the check built into Defrag from MOS 1.4.5, DON'T use SFSCheck unless you've installed the SFS it comes with!

The latest version of SFSCheck, which is available on Aminet (released recently) supports SFS extensions used on MOS 1.4.5.

    Small development raport:

Today I managed to finish lost files/dirs finding engine and fixed remaining bugs in it so it is rather fully useable now. I also did some tests on warious kinds of filesystem errors and it worked really well. The only drawback is the speed. The reason is that whole partition need to be scaned to find all information about all lost files.

The next thing I will work on is file selector, becasue most of you are probably not interested in recovering every file that has been found on the disk.

    Status report:
I had a very busy week, but I finally managed to finish file selector module and hunt some bugs. The good news: tommorow or in next 2 days I will release the first public beta version of SFSDoctor. Only some minor bugs need to be fixed. It will have simmilar functionality as SFSSalv tool (the 'repair' option will be disabled, because it is still not widely tested).

I would also thank all people who donated this project. You are great :)
