    Hi everyone,

I have a Pegasos 2 and I would like to hope it is possible to update to the latest MorphOS without burning the ISO to a CD which is annoying and wasteful considering the frequency of late with the updates.

Would someone be so kind to give me a step by step guide which is idiot proof to help me?

Also would it be okay to go from MorphOS 3.4 to the latest 3.7?

    Thanks in advance.

Thomas Rapp described updating without burning a CD here.

Updating from 3.4 to 3.7 directly is no problem.

Just use a CDRW and nothing is wasted. Once you have a non booting system for no reason you are thankful to have a recent recovery disc.

Since MorphOS ISO contains the entire OS, you can update all installed systems starting with 2.0 by any successor.

Well I found a blank disc and did the update wish we had the option of a downloadable intaller system to update with but I do understand the benifits of ISO also.

This procedure is very wrong and will not work with 3.8. Please always use the officially supported update methods.

It didn't even worked correctly with the current version.

I know it cause after renaming the old boot.img and copied manually the newer, I got a non working system :/

Later I had to manually boot the correct img from cd via OF in order to get my system back at its feet.

This is exactly why we always ask our users always to follow the official update route, be it via USB or a CD.

Well, I had to try for one more time before ultimately giving up that useful install hack by Tomas, once and for all :P

Since I have to do a reinstall of 3.7 to see if Chrysalis makes my G5 unstable, I figured I'd make use of my G5 with Debian and MorphOS.

    Anyone have notes on this?
